What's Buzz-worthy: If you or somebody nearby is in need of some holiday weekend grub, you might consider volunteering to mask up and hit the big blue chain store to get that -- and then check the card aisle. Why? Well, this February release appears to be arriving freshly reloaded -- more than a few people have noted finding new stashes of these Optic mega boxes in stores -- and I happened upon nine at just one store ... but only grabbed one. (Left the rest for the kids ... and they might have done better than I did.) I only say that since I struck out on the Zion Williamson-Ja Morant front but this box did include a rare Checkerboard parallel, a respectable silver (Holo) RC parallel and some decent names among the rookies and inserts (with some parallels in there, too) but not the two bigs I was hoping for. Had I remembered they sometimes run together -- I was reminded of that in the Pink packs in somebody else's boxes on the forum last night -- I might have opted for more ... and should have considering the market for these boxes unopened. (But ... I didn't.) My box under-delivered on the Rated Rookies compared to my previous box to add a little sting but I got over it. ... Like Prizm, I think this one is a solid release this year and I actually like it better on the Rookie Card front in both how it delivers and how they look cleaner. Some of the photos are a little funky -- Zion among them -- but simplicity goes a long way with this one's inclusions and hobby boxes deliver that and a ton more. (Hit that link up top for a shot at those blazing-hot boxes.) All formats should deliver pretty well on the basics -- and that's a good place to start with this one. I'd expect it to be plentiful (like Prizm) but not as available as people clear shelves and stockpile unopened boxes.
