What's Buzz-worthy: Can't stop, won't stop ... or I'm just burning through my reserve boxes now since I'm out hunting for Buzz Break boxes less often these days. These USA Baseball Shop combos were such a good deal, here's one more break -- and you'll see the same base card images as last time (those don't change here) and then the new hits in the gallery below. The 2019 set's inclusions here is an interesting pairing -- Volpe was the first-round pick of the Yankees last year and was in the spring camp this year (one plate appearance) despite some ugly stats last summer, while Cronin was a fourth-rounder last year who put up some scorching numbers last year in A-ball. In 17 appearances (22 innings) he struck out 41 and had a save with a 0.82 ERA. The 2020 set's ink is on the young side still but Bulger is a MLB Draft prep prospect this year at catcher and Nikazy has been strong for the Ole Miss Rebels -- but not heading into the draft. ... I will readily admit I knew a lot more names in last year's set than this year's (I'm just too busy to prospect super-hard pre-draft but I enjoy early and cheap cardboard), but both sets are the homes for players who will be taken in the next draft (whenever that happens) or in the years to come as the sets includes he 15U, 18U and Collegiate National Teams. I checked the MLB.com draft prospect rankings and found 19 players on the checklist in the top 50 and most of those are in the top 20 on the list. (See the gallery.) The extras are the big draw here but base cards of key names aren't bad finds, either for the price. (A wider range of autographs and memorabilia cards are in the hobby boxes -- link up top.) If you land the right names on ink, they pay for a set or two (or more), while others might not but these combos aren't bad for the price of a blaster. The price on the hobby boxes from last year is solid right now as some top prospects who are already in MiLB are in there.
Product Grade: A- (both years)
Lot Grade: B+
Fun Grade: B (simple and cheap)
