What's Buzz-worthy: This is just my third blaster box of this one -- a brand that might be among my NFL favorites the last few years -- delivered my second Daniel Jones Rated Rookie (this one a standard version). That with appearances from the two Super Bowl QBs and then the typical array of rookies and parallels/inserts give it a solid grade -- but it's one that can easily be topped, too. These boxes are remarkably consistent -- you get basically the same thing every time with only the final insert changing -- and that's one reason I have ripped them more than others. There's solid potential if you can land a key name in a key spot here between the parallels and the hits have some potential, too, without it getting too pricey. This year's Walmart mega boxes deliver more parallel power -- and they aren't bad -- but the hit there is also only a memorabilia card even though the price is nearly double that of here (for almost double the cardboard but same type of hit). I've not been sold on this design for Donruss but the feel of Optic with its different parallel looks does work well for me. If you're a full-time NFL buyer, then hobby boxes should be no-brainers here. If not, just try it out with a blaster or mega box -- the hobby version of that does include an auto and mem card at the link above -- and see how it goes.
