What's Buzz-worthy: I didn't wait long to check out the blaster boxes of this one after it arrived at hobby shops just yesterday and this blaster delivered well enough with a smaller mix of cards but a solid bunch of names, one of the best short-prints -- Ronald Acuña Jr. -- and a hit that should take nine boxes to find. Not a bad first box. The only drawback here? Centering of those SPs and the condition-sensitive state of the Cloth cards only found at Walmart. (That bottom right corner? Simply by penny sleeving ... so just don't do it. Grading these will be a massive challenge. ... As said previously, the journey back to 1970 begins here with the gray-bordered entrance to a new decade re-presented in great detail. I'll be the first to admit this one departs from what I liked in the 1960s but it's true to the original and it's Heritage, meaning there are plenty of highlights to look for that could and should surprise value-wise (at least early on) because this one is a brand that is collected in full. I won't open as much of this one compared to what I ripped for 1969, but there are a few things to look for here -- Mystery autograph redemptions in hobby boxes for starters. (Vladimir Guerrero Jr? Bryce Harper as a Phillie?) This one will set the stage for a strong Heritage High Number set again this year, too. All in all, 1970 is far from one of my favorites, but this release is strong.
