What's Buzz-worthy: I don't typically dabble with all options out there for football draft picks sets, but with a strong class of rookies I figured I'd opt for a blaster of this brand that's been around longer than all of them going today, SAGE. This season-debut release is a small one -- just 50 base cards -- which allows them to follow up with a high series soon thereafter (coming this month). I was surprised to see triples of the main guy I was looking for, Tua Tagovailoa, as well as a parallel so I wasn't all that bummed by coming up two cards short of the set, though both are notables -- Jordan Love and Jonathan Taylor. The design this year is big and bold -- perhaps bolder than any I remember from recent years -- and the printing and cutting is super-clean, too. You don't get full team colors here -- Panini America has the full CLC licensing -- but you still get a good feel for college football here with a solid three autos per box (hit up hobby for even more). You can find 45 players on the standard auto checklist here and there's more to be found beyond that, too. (Hit that checklist link above to see it all.) I didn't see this one arrive at retail in my area otherwise I would have tried it sooner -- three autos is a good shot at key names -- but those hobby boxes can offer even more. Sixteen autographs for starters. All of the draft picks sets are worth a look this year.
