What's Buzz-worthy: A Buzz Break for a factory set? Well, yes, since this year's edition of the Topps MLB flagship has a chase element this year in its factory sets sold at Walmart and, well, I won this time beating the one-in-three odds at landing one of the parallel versions of every card. This version is the easiest one and is un-numbered, while the box teases other versions numbered at /299 (Blue), /99 (Orange) and even a 1/1 Foilfractor set via a redemption card placed in a set. (No odds on the box this year for that unlike past years that had chase parallels of bonus cards.) This one also has an extra chase with a five-card Foilboard parallel pack -- I did OK there with a Keston Hiura appearance but an otherwise dry pack -- and then the rookie variations that are all for notables from Series 1 and then the biggie from Series 2, Luis Robert. The Target version of the set includes a Chrome rookie variation and rookie variation pack for sure (at $10 less than these). If you don't normally grab a factory set every year (and that's less likely in recent years given all the bonus inclusions for rookies) this adds a little more to the possibilities. I'd expect that the person who lands the 1/1 set could make some pretty serious bank with 700 1/1s all in one box with many player collectors having some serious needs for those cards. Had I landed a standard set, I might have been a little less excited here but landing one makes me wonder whether I can do it again. Given how lean retail aisles are right now -- this was it for new arrivals that I saw unless reloads vanished before I looked -- there's a chance I might do it again.
