What's Buzz-worthy: This third release of this brand is one that, at its best, seems like a long-term sleeper. The rare cards here and key autographs feel like they can't be as plentiful as other releases and the feel of these gloss-free and foil-free cards makes me like them even more. A decade from now, the stuff here just might be tougher to find than the flagship stuff that has vanished in pack form and is, inevitably, more plentiful. (It should be as flagship release.) This box was loaded with names across the base set and its various subsets while the inserts also skewed toward young, collectable players. Sure, it's not all a home run -- the caricature cards can go if you ask me -- but for the price this is one to rip, especially when the ink seems to perhaps be flowing better than it should at times. (This was not one of those times -- and blasters don't have the best odds there -- but other formats may deliver well.) I will probably dabble more in other formats after this break -- and I still need to track down one of the boxes with the toy included. I think the coronavirus delays kind of stole the thunder on the toys in boxes twist this year -- I think they might have stood out from the rest of the pack with a normal card world with plenty of stuff arriving and flowing. I'd rip a bigger box for a bigger mix of stuff or consider a handful of these boxes if you can't go any other direction.
