What's Buzz-worthy: They say "Chrome is king" and that is probably what the driving force is here with this selection of oldschool GPK characters appearing once again on Chrome along with some other new creations. The basics here are 100 cards -- A and B versions -- and then the C versions are apparently far rarer at one in 101 packs. That's one in 21 blaster boxes ... essentially two per blaster case if you are lucky. This box over-delivered with a Green Wave Refractor -- one in 71 packs -- and then a Refractor (one per box) along with its guaranteed Atomics only found here. This box had a run of pairs here -- that's good in my mind but it also limits the scope of this box's appeal. I like some of the pop culture nods and the Refractors do look very sharp here but I still like themed pop culture sets more than the mish-mash oldschool approach. These boxes can include Superfractors -- one in 22,077 packs (one in 4,416 boxes or one in 111 cases) as well as printing plates, artist autographs and a number of other parallels. It's a very simple approach here and that might add some appeal, too. All in all, I don't hate this one ... it just feels like it needs a bit more.
