What's Buzz-worthy: Buzz is in a college football kind of mood lately -- 'tis the season -- and my second Buzz Break of today is one that's probably off-radar a bit but is the kind of affordable shot at some good stuff if you want ink of notables on some of their first cards. On-card ink, too, and that early part is because these boxes are packed with active college players on NIL deals back then. Why rip? Colorado's Shedeur Sanders is in here with both autos and base cards -- and they're in demand -- while other guys already in the NFL are also in here such as Bryce Young, who I pulled in a past break. Since these are still affordable boxes I have opened a few recently and this is my first ... it wasn't bad. Harris was a third-round pick of the Houston Texans and is a starter there on Sundays now, while Uiagalelei transferred to Oregon State and is starting there after leaving Clemson. Jones is presently the QB for Cincinnati after transferring from Florida to Arizona State and Olave is in his second season with the New Orleans Saints after a 1,000-yard campaign as a rookie and first-round draft pick. I definitely could have done worse. ... More reasons to rip? Simplicity, a vintage feel, guaranteed hits and ... That Heisman Guy I mentioned. This brand is built on NIL guys -- some already drafted and some who will be soon -- and it's modestly priced enough I'll probably dabble more as long as I can find boxes on the cheap. Why? I don't need 75 super-rare parallel versions of an auto for football ... having one for a player works for me unless he's an established name for my team.
Product Grade: A-
Box Grade: A- (only drawback is Olave has some errant red ink spots on card ... likely from wet ink on a sheet atop it)
Fun Grade: B+ (good box only dampered by the errant ink on best card)
