What's Buzz-worthy: These aren't new, but since it's #Buzzmania6 week -- that means it's all about wrestling cards on Friday -- I decided that a Wednesday Buzz Break here would be some AEW action but in a non-traditional sense. (Reality: I found this one in the wild and my other BB options are still in the mail ... but I dig these.) These packs are simple -- three cards from a Yellow parallel of the first AEW set -- that are only found in Unrivaled Series 9 Jazwares AEW figures and then some past Unmatched Series 3 figures. (Not always ... but the wrapper package does note their presence so it's not going to be a mystery.) Rosa was on my radar since arrival, but I hadn't spotted one in the wild and when I did order one from Ringside Collectibles in the past I ended up with the chase variation ... and that one ain't getting opened. This figure did get to breathe as Matt Cardona would say with these packages not made to remove the figure or packs easily without mangling it all. Inside, I found one of the early high-profile names no longer in the company (Rhodes), a veteran voice who has been pivotal behind the desk and scenes (Schiavone) and a member of one key tag team/faction in the company (and elsewhere) who doesn't have a boatload of cardboard. Why rip here? Well, while these aren't expensive cards the way they are distributed would make this a tough 100-card set to build and all those key newcomers (MJF, Orange Cassidy, etc.) on their first in-pack (non-indy) cards are in there ... and these should grade better than the in-blaster stuff based on this small sample size -- no damage from packing that I saw vs. what is regular in the regular stuff. You can find packs online around $10 (sometimes higher, sometimes lower) and some singles sellers, too. The figures aren't that tough to land, either, (SRP $19.99 or so ... cheaper than most blaster boxes) but you can sometimes find them higher or lower online, too, but, again, they may not alway come with the pack if stock images are used. This one was a no-brainer for me as I'm a fan of Rosa ... and she even follows Buzz on Twitter. (Insert the ol' flex emoji here.) Will I do more? There's a decent chance ... just depends on if I check the toy aisle and spot a name I need to find or like with the pack included.
Product Grade: A
Pack Grade: B on the pack; A on the figure
Fun Grade: B (wish these packs were larger)
