What's Buzz-worthy: A lot of the retail stuff from the last few years was made in good volume, so I opted to wait and rip later knowing there's plenty to be found even after some people out there were clearing shelves. This one? I perhaps could have gone either way -- I wasn't a big fan of basic Donruss UFC but this one looks good and I think that's in part just from the base design and photo editing here. It's simple, it's still a bit repetitive but it's clean and it works this time -- even with plenty of base cards in a smaller box. (In short, I should have opened a box of this one sooner ... but I know I didn't because UFC isn't really in my core as a collector ... so it would definitely be more "ripping to rip" for me.) The base set is 100 cards capped by 20 rookies and five announcers with some past names worked into the mix alongside today's stars -- that works and helps casuals (I might not even qualify as that) find more names they recognize from past years of UFC events and cardboard. This one included a number of names I know but I don't think I landed anything of true notable status on the dollars side -- parallels of everything mean the parallels are perhaps chased first -- but I still got some decent little cards ... which is OK for me since this box was among a lot of smaller, cheaper rips. Bigger boxes are probably pricier now when found as they pack more -- including guaranteed ink and more of everything else -- but a small lot of these boxes still might deliver decently with some retail-only ink and numbered parallels here. I like this one a lot more than basic donruss -- same look but a lot less base here where this box feels a little more interesting despite Donruss having a lot more on the  insert front along to go with the more base. This one is more compact but it feels comfy and if it were to present itself in-person to me again, I'd probably rip into more ... just for fun.
