What's Buzz-worthy: My latest pack from one of those odd mega boxes of this one that included a few packs of this, a pack of another and then three random NFL cards -- oddly those were just commons thrown in a sleeve -- was a little bit better than last time with a couple of better rookies and one showing up also as a parallel. Atop that, I found some decent names in all other spots, too, though nothing here that is a big win. Collectively, though, it's a pack that comes out ahead. ... As I've said before, the base cards are relatively unique but that design didn't grow on me with this rip -- but if you like or don't mind it and want to build the set on the cheap this format is arguably the way to go. Meanwhile, blasters are the home of a hit every time here, so if you want hits on the cheap then rip that. If you want a little more to chase and don't care about the price, rip hobby boxes. ... The foil-etched inserts here are nice, while the basic stuff here is not holofoil like the hobby basic cards are -- the opposite of Capstone baseball, which also included a hit per blaster. The stock in this pack was a bit rough but that's not always the case with this one ... overall, it's got a simple throwback appeal to it.
