What's Buzz-worthy: Another blaster, another Relic ... and another Padres Relic, too. Last time, it was Blake Snell. The Cardboard Gods really want me to keep ripping Ginter -- this is just my second blaster and a second Relic -- but I'm just not feeling this one. I only bought it since it was in the bargain bin. ... The slight addition of some texture to the outer edges here make this one feel a little different than the other years and helps frame things a little better than the blank-slate approach. I like the feel here and the crop of rookies isn't bad, either, but Ginter hobby boxes sometimes being three hits without ink remains a bummer for the price. (That's why I did a pair of Ginter X and called it good ... they had ink every time for less at their original price.) If you beat the odds and land a good name on a good hit then you can win here ... but that's not all that easy in a hobby box, let alone a blaster. Over time, the good stuff here will dry up -- as will boxes -- and then prices on all of that stuff will look better. Why? The power of a brand that has been going since 2006.
Product Grade: B (good stuff here as usual but I feel like it needs an autograph in every hobby box to justify the price along with more formula tweaks)
Box Grade: A- (hits don't flow easily here ... but I found one once again)
Fun Grade: B
