What's Buzz-worthy: Sometimes a simple error can pay off and in this case a bargain-bin blaster was a little warmer than normal as it coughed up more than the typical volume on the insert front -- about double the norm -- and a pair of Chromes that are one in 54 packs apiece on their own gets this one the win. Most Chromes can be rough here -- either with the player or the centering -- but that Torkelson is remarkably clean. So clean, don't be surprised if you see it slabbed here at some point ... just because. Among the standard cards, I whiffed on all of the notable newcomers save for Julio Rodriguez but that helped make this over-deliverer better. ... As I've said before, this one is a fun rip for 1970s Heritage -- can't say that every year -- and HHN is one that has such a loaded set that it's perhaps harder to get a truly bad box on the RC front. ... If I liked the 1973 design more, this brand might have landed an A+ grade overall as this is the kind of release we need to see more of -- a lot to chase -- but without a price that forces one to rip and flip since it's so expensive. It's a better experience with hobby boxes for their price and that sale price is good right now -- and there's a guaranteed hit and more along with a near-set in every box. I say rip those until they rise or dry up and then snack on these blasters or the megas later as long as they are reasonably priced.

Product Grade: A
Box Grade:
A+ (pack-out botch meant about double the inserts as normal for a blaster)
