What's Buzz-worthy: I could have sworn that I had ripped into one of these previously but I guess I didn't so here we are a bit later than perhaps my norm. What did I find in this collector-friendly brand? A lot of stars, a decent amount of rookies in all spots, really, and, well, a lot of duplicates for such a small box. All in all, it was Donruss for sure but the variety here seemed a little lighter than normal, while the dupes made a dry box even drier ... though I did land some solid names. I was surprised to land ink here but that EKG-style autograph running off the sticker and a bad bottom edge kind of dampened the appeal here a lot ... and he's not an expensive sig, either. This is an interesting design this year -- I like it and I don't -- with foilboard accents on all base cards and the texture being pretty heavy and probably more idealized for Optic. I think Donruss might be the best flagship-style set for NBA fans with better design and photo selection than Hoops but it doesn't necessarily have the history that the other one does. I think these boxes are a solid rip in the retail wild with a lot of other brands/releases (all sports) offering less for a higher price. I don't do NBA heavily at all these days but if I did, I'd be doing a lot of Donruss as there's a lot to find here. Hit hobby boxes for the best results for sure. If you land a top name or a good name in a rarer spot, there can be easy wins here.

Product Grade: A-
Box Grade:
B (decent crop of everything but light on variety ... an auto helped but it's not the best sig and has edge damage)
Fun Grade: B (see above)
