What's Buzz-worthy: I forgot I had one of these sitting and, well, the results here didn't include any Wembanyama cards so ... that's probably why I forgot about it. It's pretty standard but not missing anything enough to drop this to average or worse, but it's definitely not the best one of these I have ripped into. ... As I noted previously, it's better than the NFL version thanks to a simpler base design that's more modern and cleanly crafted, a little less Halloween design trickery, better rookie photos and more parallels that are more mixed in here. Atop that? Wembanyama ... and the parallels mean he's in here four times for both cards he has here and if the typical box break is what it is here then you can draw up the odds on him and any other player. (Holo Candy? At least one in 300 boxes -- probably more -- since I didn't land one again. Those singles can't be that plentiful at all even if they made a ton of this.) The set is pretty big so you'll need to rip about four boxes if the collation is perfect to land it all for just the base set. The backs are Halloween-heavy in their look but everything here feels more Hoops than it does seasonal ... yet it still is. ... Its stock, while skinny, seems more consistent and cleaner than basic Hoops this year ... good finds should grade well ... and with prices on everything getting steeper all the time, well, grading helps fill some of that void for this collector. (Ripping less, grading more.) This one its simple. This one is collectable ... and you can rip into a few boxes to have some fun going through it all. This box had the typical stuff ... just nothing a tad more flashy among the parallels.

Product Grade: A (for what it is, this is super-simple and clean ... cleaner than NFL)
Box Grade:
B- (a pretty standard package ... not the strongest on any front but nothing truly deficient to drop it to average or worse)
Fun Grade: B-
