What's Buzz-worthy: I'm an absolute sucker for GPK sets where we get pop culture nods -- basically cards of  celebs or iconic characters -- inside the theme and this one, well, it delivers that quite well, arguably beyond this one's intergalactic label. That Total Recall homage up top is easily one of the best examples of this in all of GPK history if you ask me, but this set is loaded with 'em and that's what got me to bite here ... Mad Max, "Kim Cardassian," The Fifth Element, Ghostbusters, Starship Troopers, Galaxy Quest, Predator, Back To The Future, E.T., Men In Black ... there's a ton of nods in here. Oh, and there's Bill & Ted, Barbarella, The Matrix, Mars Attacks! and sooooooo many others. (I did wonder to myself ... "Where's Sheldon Cooper?") Why did I grab a box? Well, I already picked off some singles and they're in graders' hands -- that's how much I like some of these -- and I wanted more and to be able to pull some pairs of A-B stickers and potentially grade more. The only challenge here? The stock is, almost as always, on the skinny side and that means some rough edges at times and some in-pack damage ... that's about my only bummer here. This box was a strong one with two numbered parallels (one found in every other box) while the huge pull I had here was an artist auto paralleling one of the insert sets -- a card I almost missed opening these packs -- that's found about one in six cases ... that's a win. Check the gallery and see how many sci-fi TV and movie nods you spot ... I'll say more when I rip more and I'm pretty sure I will be.

Product Grade: A- (stock remains super-thin = to a lot of in-pack damage ... but I like the pop culture nods)
Box Grade:
A+ (insert auto is one in 973 packs -- one in six cases)
Fun Grade: B+ (some damaged cards were a bummer in an otherwise strong box)
