What’s Buzz-worthy: My last two packs from a batch of these are retro finds -- Cindy Brady from The Brady Bunch and Barney Miller from Barney Miller -- two hit shows largely from before my time but popular back then. Now? Not so sure, but that's OK as my batch of these has had far more wins than average packs, which is where I would slot these in. Nothing wrong with them ... just not my thing this time. ... As I have noted before, ink doesn't happen here, of course, but a lot of big names are possible and that's part of the appeal to me with these -- the wide array of possibilities with everything being a 1/1. The prices on these proofs should be a little more friendly without slabs and ink like some past years for these -- it makes the packs cheaper, too -- but the lineup in Pop Century was as stacked as it gets so there should still be bigger-interest cards here. At the same time, there are many varieties per card with all the colors and textures and in some cases like the Clear here the slip in the back doesn't offer up the best look in a sealed case. ... Overall, I like this approach as it's something that could trend affordable while remaining unique and something that could pique the interests of a lot of collectors out there with all of the various genres found here.
