What's Buzz-worthy: I've said it before -- these days I don't collect football all that deeply like some of you out there but a multi-auto box at $19.99 (or less with sales) with top names in play will get me to try it once. This time, it's a release where SAGE definitely opted to try some different things with this one rather than trot out a basic no-frills approach. Some things work, some might not but I like the they tried vs. a copy-paste approach that many releases have been from many makers for many years. This one is a little confusing as base cards are found in the same volume as their Silver parallel in the basic packs and then the bonus pack is the home to ink, a Canvas parallel and more ... this time, an insert and then Gold parallels. There is not a hobby version of this box -- this is the only type -- so everybody is in play here from the No. 1 pick, Bryce Young, down to guys who went undrafted but signed deals after -- and those pro deals are noted on the first line of the backs unless they are an NIL player still in college. Some of the artwork works, some probably doesn't but that's going to happen on any college release as the photo quality is the starting point and there are some small-school players here just as there are top-tier guys like the Heisman Trophy winner. This box was one that included ink from a couple guys in the NFL today ... you never know who might appear here but be missed among the auto checklists in NFL releases. For the lowest price on the retail shelf and with two autos per, this one has potential.
