What's Buzz-worthy: This one was rough with it only having a single insert of meddling interest, a whole lot of rookies that probably aren't on the radar save for one and then a crop of veterans where there's definite talent but not much value these days. It happens with a big set and a smaller pack ... but this is also a classic example of how having some kind of guaranteed inserts every time and perhaps a retail-only find that regularly arrives could help bail out a bad pack and keep people ripping. This one? Not so much ... but at least I grabbed it from the discount bin at a fraction of its inflated price vs. previous years of this one. Not a single card got a penny sleeve out of me here. ... It was another reminder that I probably need to rip some more mega boxes or hobby as this particular set is jam-packed with stars and a number of subsets that add to the mix when it's simply base and make it a decent retro-style rip ... as long as it's cheap. I still feel there needs to be more in Heritage boxes through the rest of the 1970s years if you ask me (save for maybe this year, which will be colorful) to make things a little more interesting. ... Hit hobby boxes for a guaranteed hit in every box -- and there are a few autos in every case -- and that's how I'll eventually dabble more with this release. It's the best approach ... do those while those boxes last. This one was rough ... and my grading here is still probably generous.
