What’s Buzz-worthy: These cards are simple in that they are just foilboarded posters from the legendary metal band's 2024 North America tour on the front and then carry each show’s set list on the back. This one is limited to just 350 serial-numbered sets and they apparently were not available long or were not that easily found. (Not sure, but the entire tour was 14 stops in February 2024 and that’s it -- that also could be why.) I landed a sealed set for about the price of a low-end retail blaster box and this was an easy grab at that price as this is clearly more rare than anything I’d find in the typical box there -- plus these sets have some crazy asking prices online (10x my price) and graded single cards (there are a few) also have asking prices that are steep. (Will anybody bite? I don’t know.) While I know the band and a few songs -- they’re not firmly in my wheelhouse -- but I’ve opted to dabble and explore more in the card and collecting realm just to mix things up for myself. I was surprised when a few of the cards here struck me as perfect specimens. After all, these are just simple foilboard cards, but some of the posters have so much detail in them that they are absolute visual gems. I’ll likely slab card Nos. 3 and 4 (the ones seen above and bel0w) as they are so strong -- I like a simple but elite-grade music slab -- and a couple others have nice visuals playing off rattlesnakes, Asian-style aesthetics, monster movies, metal vibes and, of course, panthers (aka panteras in Spanish) in a few ways along with the typical metal poster iconography. Some of these cards absolutely glow on their foilboard, showing that, yes, the fundamentals can still make for creative cardboard. Not all of them are perfect dazzlers ... but the ones that are solid are amazing. My photos don’t fully do them justice.
