1989 Pro Set Autographs Black Shimmer Pre-production Proof (1) – Jayden Daniels (1/1)

What’s Buzz-worthy: As you can tell from the pack, this brand is one that meshes past looks from Pro Set and Press Pass as Leaf brings them to life once again with an emphasis on autos, color, flash and modern touches and textures. This one? A favorite of mine from long ago, 1989 Pro Set, with a photo that's very strong on a color that emphasizes that all-white LSU uni even more on a player who is a top name to find here. Prices on proofs are always all over the place here with ranges for Daniels being wide -- between $30 and $100 for similar cards on a quick eBay search -- but this one is clearly a win. Why? There are a lot of names in this set one might not know -- it's deep so there will probably be a lot more "miss" packs than "hits" unless one is a pure college football diehard ... but at least it's a 1/1 proof every time (unique to the color or texture/style). Since it's football season, I dabbled as the price was strong here in terms of affordability -- less than $5 a pack at the link up top. Daniels only has a pair of cards looking like this one in this release -- signed and unsigned -- with colors for each and then a bunch of other finds, too. This should be one of 10 options for this particular card. Pulling this one means it stands out to me. It likely pays for my lo t ... if not more.
