What’s Buzz-worthy: I'm down to my last couple of packs of these, but there's still some interesting names to come here if you ask me. This particular pairing, as you can see, is from the world of golf. One, Schofill, is a relative newcomer and winner of the U.S. Women's Amateur in her early 20s but still just fresh out of the college ranks this season and the other, Thompson, is an LPGA veteran who back in the day qualified to play in the U.S. Open at age 12. That's the wide variety of what can be found in this one even when it's golf. Thompson looks to be slightly more in-demand here while the Auburn star's autos from this release are affordable ... perhaps there will be more interest as her career advances? In the case of these packs there's no ink, of course, but everything is a 1/1 proof of what's found in the deep and varied release on both its checklist as well as with its parallels. ... This set is a landmark one with its focus -- a set focusing on women's sports stars and others around the sports realm -- and ripping a box or two is on my radar but, for now, I picked off a small lot of these promo packs as a taste test for how things look in-hand. There are many varieties per card with all the colors and textures and in this case the proofs are not in stickered top-loaders -- that might tweak the feel here slightly vs. other Leaf proofs -- but, overall, I like this approach as it's something that could trend affordable while remaining unique and something that could pique the interests of a lot of collectors out there. You can collect here without worrying about costs on a lot of names.
