What's Buzz-worthy: Back when this brand was known as Absolute Memorabilia I was all about this one -- it was the home of some impressive creations -- but it's evolved over the last 20 years with a really, really different feel in retail ... which isn't really about memorabilia at all. (Hobby still packs plenty ... hit that link up top.) That's fine ... this one is about base rookies and some stuff not found there. I picked off a pack of this one as just a sampler and found that the foilboard look takes a different approach this year. That's fine, too. I landed a numbered card -- I suspect that's not the norm -- while landing back-to-back inserts of the top rookie of the moment (and likely Rookie Of The Year) in Jayden Daniels. It's not easy to gauge much off a single retail pack, but those two make this one a win with only the rarer hits in this format potentially topping it. Could they be slab-worthy? Maybe ... I don't imagine they are the priciest cards in the long run and foilboard edges can be iffy -- especially in the baggy format of these packs -- but I might as I have not ripped a ton of NFL this year for a few reasons. They'll pay for the pack and that's not always easily done with retail releases with a wide net and a lot available. As a collector, it was a feel-good finish after the base cards in this pack felt lean. This kind of result might get me looking at box formats as it was a nice surprise.
