What's Buzz-worthy: Hit the link up top for the odds and you'll see that a lot of packs were made for this one in a lot of formats. It's their game now. Is a lot made a bad thing? Nah, but that will not help the values on the basic stuff you land here like this pack, this time in the long run. The stars here? Stronger on the Hall of Fame front but they're not anything rarer -- just a subset to get things to 300 cards. The rookies? We'll see. The inserts? That seemed too lean to matter here -- despite a couple names -- and it all paled in comparison to my Hoops pack from last year that had more than double the inserts almost the same number of Rookie Cards but with fewer cards than here overall. Sure, that's apples and oranges ... but all of the big high-end potential finds here don't matter on the baseline kind of pack like this. The lineup for this return set's inclusions are deep and high-end but even hobby boxes don't have an autograph every time (I don't expect that here, of course) ... so that means a lot of ripping or luck is needed to land big stuff. At the same time, this is merely one pack and I'll rip more -- and I'll also deal with the next format up the food chain with some hanger boxes, too. I'll offer up more thoughts after more rips. What does this format need? Some regularly appearing exclusives -- every pack -- that offer up spots for the bigger names to potentially show up. There are a lot of parallels in this release in both hobby and in retail... but why not something in every pack of this format? It could make a world of difference every time -- or at least offer up more potential. A regularly appearing parallel might spark people to, you know, collect that set and spark interest ... even if they are easily found.
Product Grade: B+ (big stuff in this one ... but long odds and a lot made)
Pack Grade: B
Fun Grade: B
