What's Buzz-worthy: My first of these pack was not really a slam dunk but these two were on paper with bth having odds-defying finds that, well, may not be all that in demand right now despite them being tougher finds. (I only realized that after mixing the two packs ... so that's why this one is a tandem break.) My first pack here had a pair of 8-Bit and a Power Player ... so these definitely had more juice but I don't think sellers and buyers on eBay care all that much about the odds. Perhaps that's a sign that there might be parallel overload/confusion, or not a compelling need/demand for more insert parallels ... or too much made overall? I'm not sure but some out there probably fit into each of those categories -- I'm barely an NBA dabbler these days so I'm indifferent here other than just relaying the finds and the odds. The RC volume was the same in both packs, while the star power was in there, too, with a mix of regular cards and combo cards with notables in play. ... As noted last time, hit the link up top for the odds and you'll see that a lot of packs were made for this one in a lot of formats. It's their game now. Is a lot made a bad thing? Nah, but that will not help the values on the basic stuff you land here in the long run. ... The lineup for this return set's inclusions are deep and high-end but even hobby boxes don't have an autograph every time (I don't expect that here, of course) ... so that means a lot of ripping or luck is needed to land big stuff. What does this format need? Some regularly appearing exclusives -- every pack -- that offer up spots for the bigger names to potentially show up ... and the Diamante parallels in hangers fill that role and make that one more likely to be ripped by me going forward over this format. A regularly appearing parallel might spark people to, you know, collect that set and spark interest ... even if they are easily found.
Product Grade: B+ (big stuff in this one ... but long odds and a lot made)
Lot Grade: A+ (see the odds on the two cards above)
Fun Grade: B (despite the rarer finds, I still think this is the roughest format to open)
