Signed Polaroid photo (1) – Richard Sterban, the bass singer in The Oak Ridge Boys
What’s Buzz-worthy: First ... what is this? In short, these are leftover photographs where Leaf did not include them in their fascinating 2025 Leaf Photographic release that took a vast autograph collection -- everything signed on an instant photo -- and placed those into larger card-like frames to make a high-end product. The price there was too rich for me -- but the range of big and obscure ink justified a good part of that if you ask me, though. These packs? There’s perhaps some risk but they are cheap enough to check out. In some cases, they might be really obscure names and many in these packs might be unknowns, too. (There are no markings on these images ... it’s just a photo in a pack for around $25 that’s long gone from the company’s website.) While I’d totally want some of the names from Photographic, there’s no chance I’d take on the risks of a “miss” pack at that price. At the same time, ripping into one of these was on my radar since they arrived and I finally bit. When I opened this one? Admittedly, I had no clue who I was looking at -- and it’s not exactly in-focus, either -- but after looking at the signature and doing some guessing, a Google autocorrect got me to an answer. I cross-checked the name with some autograph images and, yes, it’s definitely him. Sterban has been with the long-running band since 1972 -- he’s 82 -- and he’s a Country Music Hall of Famer who was a back-up singer for Elvis Presley before joining the band, which has sold millions of records. (Don’t know him? You might remember this part of their biggest hit if you’re old enough.) I vaguely remembered this and a few of their songs from early childhood radio and, of course, know the band’s name ... but it’s not my genre. I wouldn’t have sought out this sig, but it’s an interesting find and I didn’t mind adding it to the ol’ collection. Will I open one or two more? Probably ... just for fun. (Click here to hear more from him.)

Product Grade: A- (mostly because the price point of these packs is good enough to try them)
Pack Grade: B
Fun Grade: B- (higher if you like a mystery/researching autographs ... there’s a good chance you could be stumped)
