Buzz Break: 2025 Mattel UNO Elite NFL (Walmart Booster)

From time to time, Buzz will break a box of something and post the results here. Like this and want to see more? Or maybe there's a box you'd want to see busted? Send Buzz an email at BlowoutBuzz@blowoutcards.com.

The box: 2025 Mattel UNO Elite NFL (Walmart Booster Bundle)
Where to buy: Retail ... BlowoutCards.com for other NFL

Keep reading to see a breakdown and gallery of what was in this one.

Cards in this box: 140 cards -- 112 players, 28 player foils -- in 14 sealed packs along with a pack of 28 branded card sleeves

Base set completion:
I'm not fully sorting this one this time, but I did find duplicate names despite there being 192 players in the basic set each with four base colors -- Blue, Green, Red, Yellow -- and then foils of each. Also notable are new Viper foils this time in some formats. This box has rarer Kaleidoscope foils possible

Notables on base cards in this box – Patrick Mahomes, Jordan Love, Jahmyr Gibbs, Bryce Young, D.K. Metcalf, Ja'Marr Chase, Tua Tagovailoa, Lamar Jackson, Brock Bowers, Dak Prescott, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert

Rookie Cards – N/A ... gaming releases aren't Rookie Cards by the standard definition, though there are likely some rookies and first appearances in this release given the depth of the set as it includes a lot of defensive players, linemen and even kickers ... not your typical finds in a typical basic set. At the same time, Uno has solicited a 2025 All-Rookie Edition for this one online but I'm not totally sure it has actually arrived in collectors' hands yet. (It's gaming and I'm not totally plugged in on that whole world. What I have seen is an Alt Jersey Edition of this, too.)

Insert cards: 28 (all in gallery below with some basic cards)
Yellow foil (8) – Joe Burrow, Dallas Goedert, Will Levis, Younghoe Koo, Zach Harrison, Chase McLaughlin, Beaux Limmer, Christian Benford
Green foil (5)
– Shaquill Griffin, James Winchester, Andrei Iosivas, Zay Flowers, Andre Cisco
Red foil (5) – Akayleb Evans, Jameis Winston, Tyler Linderbaum, Demario Douglas, Beaux Limmer
Blue foil (7) – Harrison Phillips, De'von Achane, Brian Thomas Jr., Cordarrelle Patterson, Brock Hoffman, D'Andre Swift, Lil'Jordan Humphrey
Green & Yellow foil (1) – Jalen Brooks
Wild foil (2) – Jayden Daniels, Isiah Land

Autographs/Memorabilia: None

What's Buzz-worthy: Late last year I spotted this box -- a lone straggler -- out in the retail wild of a Walmart game section and I bit not knowing the price. I suffered a little sticker shock when it rang up at $40 but kept it in the cart and then when my foils were, for the most part, a bit underwhelming I was even more surprised ... so this one sat. With the Super Bowl the next game on the calendar, I figured now was the time ... and after going back through this I think I should have looked for more -- but in the smaller, cheaper formats that have boxes that ultimately look the same save for the pack/inclusions numbers on the front. This one? It's a bigger box found only at Walmart -- hence that price I didn't expect -- while a Starter Pack looks basically the same with only four packs, a standard deck and then a couple promo cards inside for about half the price. (That's what I probably did for the 2024 version in the Breaks archives here.) There are also booster pack boxes with 30 packs that could easily pass as traditional football cards that aren't massively more expensive than this one. Why did I say I should have looked more closely? Click this. Not bad, eh? That's the extreme example in this release -- and I don't expect it to last -- but I like the card (will probably slab it as a standout card from this set) and there is safety in numbers here if you're aiming to sell as a lot of names in this release (especially based on this box) may not have a lot of cardboard in general. Foils for those names might be on the minds of player and team collectors wanting to find their names and could surprise from time to time. (Not all the time ... but if that's a guy's only card it makes sense.) If I spot some more of this one at some point, I'll probably dabble ... just perhaps not this pricier big box. I won this time but I feel like other formats might deliver OK at lower price points.

Product Grade:
Box Grade:
A+ (price was a bit shocking ... but it's a big box made for Walmart -- and Daniels made it a win)
Fun Grade: B+ (all about your foils -- and if you can load up on top names)
