What's Buzz-worthy: This is the second possibility with these sets -- the Wrestling Stars set is a 1951 Topps homage since those younger stars don't have a time to "rewind" to like my previous break here. Overall, this is more of an update for a previous series but since these are well-crafted and there's still plenty of creative art-based new stuff here I bit off a trio of sets. ... These are artist-created cards that spotlight just six notable stars today with looks back at their earlier personas for three veterans and then this throwback design for the three newbies (one there is technically a veteran but slightly newish as a solo act). There's a good amount of parallel action here with printed serial-numbers that help ensure the artist's market when it comes to copycat cards. (These are well-crafted so that would be tougher to do vs. some indy sets out there.) ... Like the last set, these illustrations showcased a Japanese menko design and all are are crisply done and the printing and cutting is immaculate, too. All in all, I still like the feel of these and I'll be a regular buyer while they're done. Why? They're affordable and crisply made ($20 per set) and the continuity of them helps make it all a little more collectable. They're a win and something fun to add to the stash without breaking the bank.
Product Grade: A- for base set ... B+ for Rewind Series (both are small)
Lot Grade: A+ (three Strattons make this one a win for me)
Fun Grade: A- (smaller set than past versions but still a good amount of variety)
