What's Buzz-worthy: There are no posted odds for this one -- hobby or retail -- so I couldn't tell you if this one delivered as it intended or if it over-delivered. Nothing here was deficient other than a mangled mini atop my first pack with it creased and in the pack sideways -- the mini was missing in the next pack so no "bonus" card here -- so with nothing missing it avoids a below-average box mark despite another bad first impression. (I saw something similar last year with mangled cards.) The spread of the parallels wasn't bad -- it might be a "good" blaster on paper but since there's no paper (odds) I'll not sweat it like Topps didn't sweat releasing the odds. (Why not? Well, hobby boxes dropped from three hits to two this year ... but it's not like we didn't know that from the start once it was announced.) Atop the mystery and the mispack, the one card I would have wanted to see is the Dennings parallel -- badly centered like many (all?) of the color minis I have seen from this one. That's something that actually led me to stop window-shopping on this for now. This release is firmly in the Ginter realm with some surprises ... but like I have said more than once in recent years here in reviews I think Ginter needs a re-evaluation if not time on the bench (or retirement) despite its ongoing history with Topps since 2006. (Celeb autos in an old-timey tobacco set just don't seem correct for 2025 like they might in a flashier Finest-style release -- or even like it did work better 20 years ago with more-unusual finds and quirkier subjects.) This year did expand the array of parallel inclusions -- the Filagree are nice and I suspect the color probably is on those, too -- and there are some long-odds chases added to hobby that take things up a notch in ways not seen before here ... but on this end of the spectrum it was again a pretty dry break with the issues in this box being lame. I think I only opened a pair of jumbo packs of this one last year -- and I was a case-buying, pre-order guy and a shelf-cleaner for this brand in varying degrees from the start and for years beyond -- but this is probably my lone box this time unless I spot a hobby box that calls my name or stuff at a price where I'll take a shot, despite knowing a two-Relic box is a real possibility. I used to demolish these boxes often and have some gems from the past to show for it ... but now I'll just do selected singles if anything strikes me as unique or must-need. Maybe the odds are better on some things this year but, so far, who knows ...

Product Grade: B
Box Grade:
B- (no odds ... might be better, might be worse than the norm)
Fun Grade: C+ (mangled cards, badly centered mini parallels ... those don't help after I made a reluctant buy)
