What's Buzz-worthy: This is a brand that delivered a lot of damaged cards for me in a 2023 break -- so much so I never bothered with a box of it at all last year for that and other reasons. Meanwhile, this year's edition was much cleaner ... but still felt lean with the exact same kind of insert/base ratio from two years ago. The variety of this one makes it work but this smaller box feels like an afterthought with it being a lean box that doesn't help -- I think a hobby box probably delivers a good mix and volume but the two autos per box seem like, well, very lean unless you defy the odds for the bigger names who are likely in rarer volumes.. What makes this different from the past? There are no Sandlot, Major League or Bull Durham tie-ins here and it seems other oddball autos that used to be found here aren't here this time, either. Those novelty autos -- unique signers who might bring extra value at times since they don't have other auto cards to chase -- are missed in my mind. Instead, new takes on old names like Andres Galarraga, Terry Steinbach, Billy Ripken, Tim Salmon and Robin Ventura are the variety names ... but they have stuff. Big names are saved for the Standups autos that start one in 452 hobby packs, while there really is just one standard (Fan Favorites) auto in Nick Kurtz. There are other highlight ones for sure but those will be rare in even hobby boxes ... so a smaller box like this will be, well, not your best choice if you're ripping solely for ink.The base cards are clean renditions of 1964, 1996 and 2005 ... so that is a reason to rip here. I'm just doing this one for now but might dabble later once attention from others is elsewhere. I might watch singles for some things here if they strike me.

Product Grade: B (auto lineup feels like it's missing novelty names that could make more-typical boxes winners)
Box Grade:
B (this small box had highlights ... but it still just felt flat)
Fun Grade: B- (more true variety would make it better ... foilboard parallels have been ridden very hard this year)
