What's Buzz-worthy: A Chrome card is my "hit" for this box (not an autograph or Relic) and this basic Refractor checks in at one in 60 packs (six boxes) in this format at a volume of 499 made ... and then there are 10 other Chrome parallels for all 200 cards ... that means there are plenty of boxes here. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Yes, depending on how you look at it -- and the Chromes are only found in megas, too. This might give you a chance at some rarer, in-demand Chrome if you land a top name here for sure, but I'd rather have a safer box each time with an actual hit, myself. (Plus, this one had some surface issues right out of the pack, putting an extra damper on landing Chrome. And, another thought ... hasn't there been plenty of Chrome among many releases this year?) All that said, based on the odds rundowns and volumes here, this format is the best format to rip into for this one -- and it might even not be close -- though the split between the two versions of megas do have some dramatic odds swings in spots while being identical in others. The rookie crop in this box was deep -- double that of my tin -- and a little top-heavy with one of the ROYs and a few others of note but then quite lean after that. The star lineup among my base was perhaps smaller vs. my tin despite being a bigger box ... but the rest of the inserts are where the power is in this one as well as the better realistic potential. This box wasn't as obvious on the variations -- two of them are simple back swaps with a red stripe (not a compelling change in comparison to the others in my mind) -- but it was still obvious that this was a better haul than my two tins for the same price and this format had far fewer condition issues out of packs vs. tins. For this release, this is the format to open.
