What's Buzz-worthy: My last one of these over-delivered with an odds-defying pull -- a parallel auto that was one in 14,388 packs -- but this one? Well, it was a bit different. This one was clearly a mis-packed box with three Gold parallels -- one in 27 packs (three boxes) to land just one -- and then a Gold Mirror (one in 737 packs) and the Pink Griffey is also a rarer find (one in 723 packs). (To make it more obvious, this one had a lot of duplicated base as well as triples -- not the norm.) Atop that, there was another find that was supposed to be one in about three of these boxes. In terms of specifics, I once again landed Mayer on the jumbo -- same as last time -- and my companion was Kurtz but with a bad corner. Thanks to the botch, though, this one is still an A+ box. Beyond that, it was a bit of a Sox show with Kristian Campbell in there a few times in good spots, which is perhaps a good thing over time. Last time, the ink made it a top mark but this time it did it the more-traditional way -- thanks to the higher-volume of rarer finds. I'll probably open more of these if they present themselves as the variety and volume is here where all those younger stars who might pop up in other places in the box beyond base cards.
Product Grade: A- (loaded with rookies this time ... and more inserts, too)
Box Grade: A+ (thanks to the mispacking)
Fun Grade: B+
