What's Buzz-worthy: I have actually had really good luck with some Power Cubes from the past -- baseball versions -- so I bit here after finally seeing one and seeing accounts where there may (or may not have) legitimately been 2017 Donruss sightings here complete with Patrick Mahomes Rookie Cards. This one? Not in that galaxy. My assorted cards were brutal -- some low-condition stuff from the early 1990s that, to be honest, just shouldn't be redistributed -- ad then remnants of a 1988 Fleer pack where the best card had a wax stain. Throw in some Rated Rookie box set commons and even a roughed up baseball card (common) and it didn't leave a good impression with me at all. (And I know what I am getting into with these ... I grew up on repacks.) The packs here ultimately had a few names but were a non-factor to me when I saw them so it came down to the hit -- a nice-looking card but likely not a valuable card -- and then the end-cap cards from the SAGE All-Rookie Team set which may be found only in releases like this. The baseball versions of this had more cardboard inside, more variety and more potential with Meijer-only Purple inserts packed (and guaranteed inside) but that was mostly pre-COVID era and I think to a degree the packs here are a reflection of what's available now on the cheap. Perhaps these will look different later. Is there potential here? Sure. Should I have opted for something else out in a seemingly (at times) loaded retail wild with slightly higher SRPs on stuff? Probably, but this one won that battle ... and it at least included a hit.

Product Grade: B
Box Grade:
C- (bailed out by the hit ... but it looks nicer than it is)
Fun Grade: D (there may be big potential here but this one was rough)
