The pack: MJ Holding one-pack & more baseball repack
Where to buy: Retail -- click here for Topps Nippon Professional Baseball boxes
Packs per box: one -- with five extra cards also inside the clamshell package
Cards per pack: 19 (14 in 2021 Topps NPB pack, five 2022 Tampa Bay Rays team set cards as extras)
Notables on base cards – See the gallery below for all cards in pack
What's Buzz-worthy: These used to have a heavier presence at some of my retail stops but I never bit but this one was among just a few stragglers at a recent visit so I grabbed one ... since it's a new baseball season. (Ironically, there was no 2024 Topps to be found at two stops. Go figure, though, I opted for something else with a guaranteed hit that's up next.) This pack included 2023 Boston Red Sox rookie Masataka Yoshida, which was about all I knew from the pack at a glance -- no inserts this time, either. Names you might -- or should -- know here? Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Roki Sasaki, Munetaka Murakami, Shota Imanaga, Seiya Suzuki, Shunpeita Yamashita and Kodai Senga for starters.
Product Grade: B (there is potential here with some luck and some older versions of these had Chromes)
Box Grade: C+ (Yoshida helped but still pretty much average results here)
Fun Grade: C- (see above ... ultimately a forgettable one but that can happen with only one pack)
