Buzz Breakdown: CFCoolectibles Thank You Comic Mystery Box

Group breaks have been a game-changer for the card industry for several years now and from time to time Buzz will jump into a BlowoutTV break of some type and break down the results of what he landed by picking up a team. There are near-daily breaks right here with Matt on Blowout TV during weekday working hours and even more from Houdini and others over on the forum in the evening.

Now, it's time for this post's break breakdown -- a mystery box to introduce a new CFCoolectibles realm of breaks ... a Thank You Comic Mystery Box.

INSIDE THE BREAK ...
The Product:
CFCoolectibles Thank You Comic Mystery Box
The Breakdown: At least one new X-Force No. 1 book "plus an additional $10+ worth of new comics" from recent releases with the lone teaser being the image up top.
The Price: $10 via their District account ... (They also do some breaks/subs on forum link up top -- one sample here.)
The Team Buzz Landed: N/A ... this ain't sports this time.
Grab Your Own Box: N/A (sold out)

Initial Reaction: This was any easy pick-up as it was only actually $5 since I was a new member ... and X-Force is a soft spot for me as an early 1990s retail comic hoarder who still has my 20-plus No. 1s that are an icon of The Polybag Era.

Final Thoughts: I wasn't sure what I expected to land with this one -- I just did it -- and I was pleasantly surprised with the finds with that familiar X-Force logo issue (simple and bold) among the first things I saw. That just felt right. The foil Deadpool cover at the end was the "Boom!" here as it's just impressive with the art and the added foil shine, while my oldschool tastes were also touched upon with the other variant cover showcasing a character from the past who was my favorite but is in a new rendition today and on the team, Captain Britain. (Can't keep up with all the new stuff or the new characters and new looks? I hear you, that's me too.  So ... check out this site -- just type a title or character and see what pops up. It's a good way to try and decipher what's what if you don't have a good shop locally or just realize how much is out there for staples or even obscure names. Creators, too.) What are they worth? Variants are probably more common in the comics realm than people might think -- there are, in my view, too many -- so some stuff can be cheap, but I dig the variety and dabble with mystery packs and they are often showcases of strong art on covers. Mystery drafts? Not dabbled yet ... but maybe. There are a lot of rarer variants to be found that can easily pop up your dollar value of return if you do breaks and land some incentive issues ... but as a collector there can be value in the appeal of books that aren't only about price. Obviously I came out ahead here and, well, the stuff is clean and crisp so if you like to grade stuff you like (Deadpool would be a candidate for me here) then this is a route to ponder, too. Hit the links and the forum and you might find some cool stuff for both cards and comics.
