Buzz Buys ... A LOT: "Huh-huh, Huh-huh ... he said promos"

Buzz buys a lot of stuff these days and for a few reasons, really. Sometimes it's just bargain-hunting, sometimes it's just something that strikes me. And other times it's a lot -- a group of things -- and that has happened enough lately I figured I'd try something different as a regularly appearing item. Sometimes my lots will be wins, sometimes they won't be ... but I'll let you decide.

A MYSTERY MIX
The Lot: A mix of 46 assorted non-sport promo cards (and some inserts, too)
The Price: $9.99

Keep reading for more on this one ...

What's The Deal? This was billed as a simple lot of non-sports promo cards with a decent price for the vast mix, which appeared to be an assortment of sample cards from magazines of the past and traditional promo cards sent to dealers and then perhaps some insert cards here and there thrown in.

What's The Steal? What caught my eye? The Beavis and Butt-Head acetate cards and the Springer promo card, which was for a set that never actually got made. Atop that, the promo card showing The Rock as well as some others here that have oddball appeal and perhaps could pay for the lot by themselves ... or maybe even more if slabbed and clean with decent grades.

Anything Missing? Nope as it's not a set/subset scenario ... plenty going on here for what it is. The gallery below is actually a small assortment of the highlights in this one with the last photo teasing the full stack.

The Lot Details ...
Notables: Beavis and Butt-Head, The Flintstones, Jerry Springer, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Bettie Page, The Mummy Returns (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson), The Twilight Zone, Hershey, Jumanji, Vargas pin-ups, The X-Files, Alien, National Lampoon, Spy vs. Spy, The Three Stooges, Demolition Man, Sliders, holograms and more.

Rookie Cards: Not applicable for "RC" definition here ... though technically there could be some first card appearances in here.

Bottom Line: The condition for a lot of them wasn't that strong but the assortment totally was with some of these still findable today in their original polybagged magazines or in lots -- but those will likely cost you more than this amassed assortment. Some cards here have had interesting asking prices and even crazier slab asking prices and perhaps some actual sales (I didn't look recently) but for the relatively low price this one was a no-brainer and worth the shot. The fun part here is that this wasn't the only lot of this type that I landed ... so you'll see another similar to this at some point soon and then one more loaded with a past staple -- holograms. I need to revisit this whole stash again -- once I figure out where I put it after I took my photos (I grabbed this last year) -- and take a look with an eye on slabbing some stuff. Oddball is where it can be at in that realm if you ask me and I've been dabbling with a lot of oddball non-sports slabbing lately.
