Buzz Buys ... A LOT of comics: Nearly all variants and I dig that

Buzz buys a lot of stuff these days and for a few reasons, really. In recent times, I've been picking off bulk lots of comic books -- new stuff and old stuff -- by the box and have decided to make it a monthly drop here. Why? Just for fun ...

What's The Deal? I found a dealer/shop-owner where they sell off bulk lots of books in real-time streams (about two minutes per box) filling up flat-rates with comics from all eras -- often bagged and boarded -- and with variants and all kinds of stuff in the mix. Sometimes there's a theme or run of books, sometimes there's not. After more than a few buys like this, I've decided to pop up one of these lots every month as a series -- just for fun -- to see what shows up and what people think over in the comics section of the forum.

What's The Steal? There were a few incentive covers in the mix for this batch with the Alan Davis Wolverine cover above probably my favorite along with the Wolverine Rocky homage below. They’re nothing truly huge but they have decent asking prices online and, really, shouldn’t be found in a box like this -- even if variants are plentiful these days. Davis was my favorite artist back when I was a regular buyer long ago, so that was a fun find for me as I knew his art immediately despite his name not being on that cover. The other crazy part of this box? All but six of them are variant covers -- that’s 32 variants for pocket change as my average price here is 74 cents a book -- and that’s a price including shipping. Another interesting thing here is how the titles dipped a little further back and yet still included variants. That did mean some slightly roughed up books in a few instances instead of the untouched stuff I had been seeing in these boxes, but most here are still pretty tight and right or have minimal issues where a pressing might eliminate them. That’s a win for the price if there’s something in a lot like this that one likes. I’m not sure I’d grade anything here beyond a couple of them (a light maybe) but none would be a high-priority book.
