Buzz Buys: New classics, Victor Wembanyama, NASCAR ink, Tua, Pee-Wee Herman, Rocky goes golfing ... and new vinyl?

Buzz buys and busts a lot of boxes right here for Buzz Breaks, but one of my goals is to rip a little less and talk more about cardboard that I -- and you -- might like. One way to do that? Simple show and tell -- present a few pick-ups and say why they captured my attention.

So, with all that said, here are a few Buzz Buys ... a mix of low-and and higher-end finds as well as some non-traditional things people might like to collect.

MY HERITAGE SLEEPER SET ...
The Card: Hank Aaron 2023 Topps Heritage Puzzles (announced /500)
The Price: $17.99
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This oversized box-topper set isn't huge at just 20 puzzles on the checklist but they don't drop all that often, either, from what I have seen -- one per case at most (and maybe not at all). It's one that I knew I liked immediately back when Heritage dropped with its lineup of mostly current names but also with some past stars all in one spot. What are they? Literal puzzles shrink-wrapped to a cardboard backer placed atop the packs in some boxes. A total of 13 active players (two rookies) are here along with seven Hall of Famers -- but some obvious names like Shohei Ohtani didn't make the cut ... so I suspect we'll see more in the second series later this year. I liked a few of the options in this one but waited for prices to dip and they really haven't as much as I had hoped they would. (Why? They're on the rarer side of things compared to a lot of stuff in this one.) This one presented itself on more of the affordable side more recently so I bit. These are just oldschool cool if you ask me -- something that feels a bit anti-2023 but also not totally part of a rigid Heritage formula that's been going for two decades plus now. I like surprises -- and this set felt like one.

THREE KINDS OF GOLD
The Cards:
Bo Bichette 2022 Topps Update Black Gold, 2021 Topps Chrome Update Black Gold & 2022 Topps Fire To the Moon Gold Minted
The Price:
Under $5 total
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
I casually collect Bichette cards that are on the cheaper side with an eye on slabs if they look cool and are high-grade candidates without a high-grade cost. The Moon card was right in that wheelhouse until I saw it arrived with a surface line across the front. That nixed that idea. (Would still like to find some of the Fire parallels in slabs ... they are cool but not easy grading.) The other two were pocket change surprises and I liked them better than I thought I would have as, well, I was around for Topps Black Gold the first time. This time? The regular foil version is nice even with the texture showing through the white borders a bit. The Chrome? A winner, except I'm not as big of a fan of that photo. (Really, all three photos aren't great ... but it is what it is. Can't control every variable other than adding it to one's stash or not.)

UP TO A DOZEN ...
The Cards: Rhea Ripley 2020 Topps Transcendent WWE -- Rookie Card
The Price: About what I previously paid for just one ... so that's a good trend.
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Last year I rapidly added to my pre-existing stash of this key card -- partly on purpose but also some on impulse -- because this is, without question, her best Rookie Card. (No, stickers and gaming cards don't count as Rookie Cards.) And with this new pair of cards atop of all of these in my stash I'm now at a dirty dozen Ripleys -- 24 percent of the total print run of just 50 copies. (Dirty Dom had better be proud.) She is easily the top women's name in WWE at the moment and should be for a long time to come, barring injuries, as other established names come/go/retire. The best part? She's been a pro wrestler for a decade but is only 26 ... so there's plenty of time to do plenty more as long as she wants to. I'd like to add one more of these to cross over the quarter mark but I'm sure many are locked away to never be seen again. (They should be.)

PROBABLY MY ONE AND DONE ...
The Card:
Victor Wembanyama 2023 Topps Now (/48,654)
The Price:
$5.33 direct via Topps (with rewards)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
This No. 1 draft pick of the San Antonio Spurs -- my NBA team by the way, or at least the closest thing to one -- was a big deal long before his pro affiliation was known both literally and figuratively as a successful seven-footer. He's already sold tons of cards for literally thousands of dollars, too, but I'll probably not be ripping much NBA to chase him down due to costs, availability and, well, realities. He is likely locked up in an exclusive deal to not have any NBA ink (though nothing has been formally announced that I have seen) and at the same time it's not likely that I'd be pulling any anyway if I did my typical low-volume, low-end dabbling. So, with that said, when this oddball card popped up via Topps Now -- it's of him throwing out the first pitch at a New York Yankees game -- I bit knowing it will be more of an oddity over time vs. whatever is to come. I will probably grade this and then perhaps find some simple RC in a Spurs uni to go with it ... at most.

INKED WITH A DISCOUNT
The Die-cast:
Dale Earnhardt Jr. autographed 2021 Action United For America NASCAR Xfinity Series Chevy 1:24 Die-cast (/1,506)
The Price:
About $89 after discounts/codes (regularly $129)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
This isn't the iconic Bud car I'd want to have as a signed die-cast (that's from back when I dabbled with higher-end pieces more often in the past), but this one was a lot cheaper than I had expected when I spotted it considering this is a certified autograph edition with only 1,506 made and signed. Yes, the Earnhardt authentication sticker is annoying but they go on everything certified for him for years now and the silver auto pens can be streaky here on the plastic windshields but that's how they're done. (I'd prefer autos on the hoods or roofs but that's me.) Junior does have a lot of signed stuff from the past but the demand and the fan base is there as he's a 15-time most-popular driver award-winner and the son of an untouchable legend among NASCAR fans. I'd normally bite on cheaper items but this was just out there waiting on me and some stuff out there that's signed but not part of editions like this is risky and could be pricier. (His demand was a ton higher back in the day -- just like a lot of those die-cast production numbers -- and fake sigs definitely exist.) This paint scheme was driven at Richmond Raceway in 2021 -- his only race that year -- with the United for America scheme honoring victims of Sept. 11 and the 9/11 Memorial and Museum’s "Tribute in Light." Earnhardt finished 14th in that one and has only raced one time since as he's been retired from full-time competition since 2017.

NOT SUDDENLY A VINYL FAN ...
The Card:
The White Stripes -- Elephant, August 2013 vinyl (black dress) version
The Price:
$30 (at a retail chain discount)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
This is part of a two-part experiment of mine -- so, no, I'm not suddenly collecting vinyl. Heck, it would take some deep digging in a parental storage unit to even find a record player if it's there at all, but what this is a classic album from recent years (2003 for the original ... yikes, not that recent) that I grabbed to grade. Yep, I'm gonna go there on one or two new and never-opened albums just for the heck of it for a future Making The Grade. Why? Oddity, surprise and something different to say I did it. There is one catch on this set at the moment ... the one grading company I was looking at isn't yet slabbing double albums so this one will wait until their "coming soon" notice is a reality. My other pick-up will be heading to the graders at some point soon and on MTG later in the year. I have always liked the collector-minded moves from this duo with a lot of concert posters made in truly limited editions (handmade press productions) as well as quirks on stuff like this. This later re-issue tweaks the color of Meg White's dress -- it was white on the original -- while a newer version (20th anniversary) tweaks Jack White's suit. They didn't have to do that but they do ... it adds to the variety. That variety does add to some market confusion on what's what and among secondary-market asking prices (heck, I don't even know if this was that good of a price) but for a future slab I'm fine with it. It's all about the visuals and the condition. My other pick-up was even cheaper ... and it will present even better with a lot going on on both sides of the album.

RARITY WITH THE RIGHT COLOR
The Card:
Tua Tagovailoa 2022 Panini Mosaic Draft Picks Mosaic Purple Prizm (/49)
The Price:
$4
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
Sure, this is not a Rookie Card or rookie-year parallel -- it's just a newer college card -- but it's a rarer newer college card with a color scheme where the parallel color doesn't clash with the crimson that's also a key to this card. He's a guy who might have a big year as a pro in 2023 but even if he doesn't he will always be a college star ... and that's why I'm going there. A lot of the variables here made this an easy pick-up.

ONE OF A KIND CHARACTER
The Card:
Pee-Wee Herman (plus Penelope Ann Miller, Kris Kristofferson, Valeria Golino and others) in Big Top Pee-Wee (1988) press kit photos
The Price:
$9.99
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
Paul Reubens' death last week was a surprise as I had this in my lineup here but this piece wasn't yt ready to publish. While I wasn't a huge Pee-Wee Herman fan, my HBO-watching days did coincide with the oddities of his stand-up show -- even little Buzz knew it was weird but had to watch it -- and then early in the years for his Saturday morning network show. While this one is no Pee-Wee's Big Adventure (1985) -- that one is an unquestioned classic -- this movie did arrive right in the middle of his peak popularity with some cast members who went on to be well-known later such as Benicio Del Toro and Dustin Diamond (you know, Screech from Saved By The Bell) as well as names well-known then and now. Many of them aren't seen here on these promo photos but the key stars are, giving one a taste of this film's oddity. Why did I buy this back in June? The simple volume of the photos here (less than $1 apiece) and the fact that they are all minty fresh from a press kit that clearly was not used. Was it a full kit? Maybe, maybe not -- there are other images out there just like these -- but good images can routinely sell for $10-20 in a lot of instances (for this set and others) if sellers try to break them up. Me? I just fill up binders with my movie stills ... it's simple collecting fun with a lot of surprises while a lot of cardboard from this time I've done a few times over. There are no surprises from back then now.

TOO CHEAP TO PASS UP?
The Card:
Jey Uso 2022 Panini Select WWE Sparks memorabilia card
The Price:
$2.25
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
The Bloodline storylines in recent months have been good and he's been a major player with his cousin Roman Reigns and his twin brother, Jimmy Uso, and little brother, Solo Sikoa, all in the mix. But that's not why I grabbed this back when the debut edition of Select was just starting to regularly pop up on the selling sites. I simply bought it as I liked it for the price. This set is simple but clean and I like that -- and you can't always say that about modern set designs. The Usos have a lot of cardboard since their debuts back in 2010 -- cards both solo and together -- and you can find some affordable options. Reigns is the costly one but the Usos could be guys who are around longer and more involved in future storylines if the Tribal Chief hangs 'em up or tries other things. (Though they are all essentially the same age.)

SOME BULK BUYING ...
The Cards:
Shotzi Blackheart assorted Topps (2020-21) and Panini America (2022) base cards, parallels and simple variations/tiered cards
The Price:
Cheap but collectively more than I probably want to admit ... but I collect her cards.
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
The Chrome and Select pick-ups are from either cheaper-priced options or simple runs where I grabbed a few copies at a time with grading on my mind. (Ironically, few here have made the cut to actually make it into a sub.) Also, note the variation's subtle change in photo crop up top -- interesting but not all that dramatic. Meanwhile, the bottom row of base cards and parallels come from releases with thin and problematic card stock ... so some of these were just hopeful self-amusement if I were to be able to find one clean enough to grade. (Didn't happen.) Singles-wise, these are all cheaper grabs but together I could have probably just grabbed a cheaper auto or two and been better off ... but I'm a collector who likes to grade so sometimes things don't always make sense looking back at them.

A THROWBACK FIND
The Photo:
Yogi Berra 1973 New York Mets spring training St. Petersburg Times press photo
The Price:
About $6
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
This Hall of Famer and all-timer among MLB catchers managed the Mets for four seasons -- 1972-75 -- and won the National League pennant this year. I liked the feel of this photo knowing in the back of my mind that his only managerial cards from Topps are oddballs that stand out compared to a lot of his Yankees classics. This does, too. The back of this photo print from photographer Fraser Hale is dated from spring training that year and then was used again a few times before being tucked away in the newspaper's archives. That's where they were found, bought and stickered up years later (Google the name atop that holographic sticker for some stories about a business empire gone wrong) and then sold to collectors. The back is grungy but I've actually seen worse on photos that are much, much newer. Plus, the front of the print has aged just fine. To me, this feels like a photo that should/could sell for more -- this is a one-of-a kind piece tying right back to 1973.

AN OBSCURE PAIRING ...
The Cards:
Nick Swisher 2010 Topps Peak Performance Jumbo Relics (/20)
The Price:
About $60 total
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
I don't have any 2010 Topps wrappers handy to know how rare these are -- or if they are even on there -- as, well, these are an oddity and it's obvious based on the serial-numbering and card type that these are legit needle in haystack finds for a flagship release of even back then ... let alone the here and now. I actually found these late last year and grabbed without hesitation at stronger prices as they are cards I missed on way, way back then when I wondered if they were legit. Why? Well, they were not mentioned on checklists and were not cataloged for starters and also the swatches here are not layered patch material. Instead they are felt/vinyl style iron-on pieces ... which I have since figured out were used on some Yankees spring training uniform pieces much like this. It makes sense as back then Yankees game-used stuff went to Steiner Sports and Swisher was definitely more popular (costly) as a newcomer to the team and a guy hitting plenty of homers for a World Series winner. An oddball game/player-used item like a warmup or a spring jersey of some type would cost a ton less when a full jersey back then was pricier than it would be now, despite it all being easier to find. These came and went way back then at prices I couldn't/wouldn't swing but now all those Yanks diehards are chasing other names. Works for me ... and I have never seen any of the 18 other cards.

STRAIGHT BACK TO 1989 ...
The Photo:
LeVar Burton & Dave Stewart Reading Rainbow 1989 press photo
The Price:
$6
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
This press photo is something that would be a tweet or an email these days, but back in those stone ages PBS had to print and physically mail out announcements like this to publicize its upcoming programs. This one caught my eye as that's clearly an Oakland A's spring training photo of the dominating Oakland A's ace pitcher -- he of four straight 20-win seasons -- back then and the TV show's host who is also perhaps just as known (or better-known) for his TV work in Roots or the Star Trek universe (at least to those who were too old for this educational show). The Burton-Stewart photo would be a killer as a color 8-by-10 for a pair of autographs.

ANOTHER THROWBACK ...
The Photo:
Super Bowl XXV 10-by-14 matted program artwork print
The Price:
About $10 (after discounts)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
This print of a Super Bowl program cover (a two-bag fold-out) was a throw-in to get free shipping on an order with something else seen in the last Buzz Buys and it's one that, to me, is memorable as it coincided with the 1990 Pro Set Super Bowl XXV Silver Anniversary Box Set. I can easily say that set was a gateway for Little Buzz to learn about NFL history. I also liked this image as it was cut into nine pieces of a puzzle in Pro Set's set -- something I have actually always wanted to grade together but I know it's not worth a $100 whim. After the discounts and the free shipping savings, this was worth it to me.

TWO TEAMMATES ...
The Cards:
Eddie Vedder & Jeff Ament 2016 Pearl Jam Fenway Park
The Price:
$11.50 total
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
This Hall of Fame act has actually created card sets a few times in recent years as an easy merchandise item coinciding with concerts or groups of shows in MLB venues or home cities. On a few cards in each of the more recent sets, each member of the band has donned baseball gear for one of their cards, which were sold in packs and boxes just like regular cards. I didn't grab any of these packs off eBay closer to release but I have opened other years and graded some, too. When I spotted these at decent prices (i.e. not stupidly expensive like a lot of them can be) I figured I'd add the singer and one of the more-memorable names. Why? I'm grading the MLB Vedder cards -- have a few already, need to send in some more -- and I have pondered whether I want to do a team set in slabs, too. (Again, another whim that would cost a few bucks.)

BULK BUYING GONE BAD? (WELL, AT LEAST FOR GRADING)
The Cards:
Ricky Starks 2021 Upper Deck AEW Gold and Rainbow Foil Rookie Card parallels and Canvas inserts
The Price:
Pocket change on all of them
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
This run of cheap inserts for a young AEW star was all about possibly grading something as his Rookie Card is in this first AEW set and I think he's a name with big potential down the line. It's unfortunately the same photo on both cards and parallels but that's not dramatically obvious with the crops and the foil tweaks for this one -- but more unfortunately all had either edge or corner issues as signs where a 9.5 or 10 ain't happening among these and maybe not at all otherwise if these hold up as a trend. Bummer.

THE FINAL SCENE ...
The Clip:
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back 35-mm film cut (five frames)
The Price:
Under $5 (some are thrown in free when you buy a few)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
This simple type of item was one I wrote about last time and I had to add a few more in my stash to pop up here for some oddball variety. (Though a lot of my stuff is perhaps oddball to some of you.) In this case, this is the absolute final scene of Empire just before the credits roll showing the fraternal twins (they don't know yet) and the droids who are lifemates. Did I need this? No -- heck I might even have a Topps card with this same scene on it a box somewhere -- but the seller who thought to piece out film prints via small cuts and present them in card-like ways via a semi-rigid with a display sticker (left image) make these interesting to me. (Other two images are just scans of the frames.) Will I collect a bunch more? Probably not ... but I'll look and see from time to time when out there searching for affordable and interesting things to collect.

SLIDING INTO HOME ...
The Slide:
Steve Swisher 1976 Chicago Cubs team photo slide
The Price:
$9
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
What happens when you run out of cards to collect with players who don't have them? Stuff like this ... though, admittedly, there still may be cards I need. (This just popped up on a search first.) Swisher only played for the Cubs four seasons and I confirmed this is not from one of them. Meanwhile, I did find other players' slides with typography on the frame that matched this ... so I am 99-percent sure this is from 1976, which is nice since that was his lone All-Star season. I believe these sets of headshots were given to television and maybe print media (but more likely TV) to use with their presentations in color. I have seen team sets from the 1970s for other sports and they're not all that plentiful like they would need to be if newspapers or magazines got them, too. Will I dabble hard to find some vintage players of note in this realm? Probably not ... but the celeb slide bug has got me pretty hard in recent months -- both buying some slides outright and then dabbling with some bulk lots and mystery lots. That stuff is cheap -- talking pennies per slide in a lot of instances -- as celeb slides were widely distributed so a lot more was made vs. stuff like this. You'll see more slides here if you keep reading and I'll pepper in some favorites in future Buzz Buys pieces. Why? I like them as a collectable item -- something you can dabble with and page up like cards on the serious cheap and there can be surprises out there, too, every time you try a search.

ADDING SOME INK ...
The Photo:
Candice Michelle autographed WWE photo 8-by-10 (via Wrestling Universe signing)
The Price:
About $12
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
This is my next-to-last signed photo from a Black Friday sale almost two years ago -- yep, I don't know why it never made the cut all this time -- via a store that does public signings with stars from the past regularly. Michelle came up during the Divas Search years of WWE where, yes, models and actors were among the recruited but by the end of her run she was a women's champ and ranked among Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Top 50 stars in 2007 (she checked in at No. 10). She was in WWE regularly from 2004 to 2009 and then she's had spot appearances/matches after she retired from regular work due to injuries. She also was the star of several GoDaddy Super Bowl commercials if you're one who remembers/collects the meshing of pop culture and the tech world. Now, why did I add the auto? Well, during her actual WWE years she only had two certified auto cards -- both in the silver-sticker years -- and I wasn't sure if I had them or not. She does, however, have a decent amount of cardboard overall between wrestling and BenchWarmer stuff where she was a regular for several years.

ROCKY & ALICE GO GOLFING ...
The Slides:
Sylvester Stallone & Alice Cooper Celebrity Photo Agency slides (Planet Hollywood Casino event on Nov. 19, 1996)
The Price:
Pocket change apiece in a bulk lot ... literally less than a postage stamp for it all.
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
This was a sight I didn't expect to see flipping through a random box of more than 1,000 celeb photo slides ... something I did on a whim once, twice and will do again. (Don't worry ... I'll spare you guys 99 percent of what I find but the rest will pop up here at times.) At first I thought some of these were duplicates but the pairing photos show Stallone moving his head while talking while the others are various parts of a swing and a warm-up. Going though a bunch of slides, there are a few genres of photos on the celeb fronts that I think could be one part of a niche way to collect ... headshots, full-body (fashion) shots, red-carpet shots, plus-ones, families, casts, sports crossovers, award-winners ... this sounds like a card set waiting with slides to be embedded into frames. (Actually, speaking of all that ... it's something I have already tinkered with and a Buzz first -- a custom card item will likely be happening later this fall/winter ... not a card set, just a mock that I take a step further.) Why? Just for fun ...

SOME MORE BULK BUYING ...
The Cards:
Saraya 2022 UD AEW New Arrivals plus Silver parallel (front) and UD AEW Match Dated Moments cards
The Price:
Pocket change on all -- except the Silver ($8.50)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
This is, I believe about 75 percent of this wrestling veteran's entire AEW cardboard resume only short one more-recent online-release card like these. The Arrivals card is one I want to own in a high-grade slab and I've bought a couple dozen (all under $1 or well under) looking for a strong copy but between the thin stock, dark edges and then light/spotty gloss that just ain't happening. (I think I have even written about this here previously ... that's how many singles I've picked off.) I also tried one Silver but it, too, had issues. The Moments cards are cleaner and I had success with one other name and probably landed one worthy out of this batch ... but it's that arrival that was a memorable moment -- it was an absolute shocker -- that I want in a high-mark slab. (That said, it's not the kind of card I'd fork over $100-plus for and that's how much one is at right now in a CSG 10 out there in the world.) I'd probably speculatively buy even more of the Arrivals cards chasing something, anything worthy of a good grade.

SO NICE I BOUGHT IT TWICE?
The Sets:
Donnie Darko French lobby cards (featuring Jake Gyllenhaal, Drew Barrymore, Patrick Swayze, Jena Malone and others)
The Price:
$9.99 for each set
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
These popped up from a pop culture dealer I buy from regularly and only when photographing my items and then dumping them into my system did I realize I picked off a set of these twice. They are clearly unused and crisp and clean -- even coming with their envelopes -- for the odd, mysterious and intriguing Richard Kelly-created cult classic. What's it all ultimately about? Not sure I could tell you -- and I probably last watched it at least a decade ago -- but it's popular and iconic enough I knew grabbing them for this cheap price was not that risky. There's a lot that goes on in this one where I think other lobby card sets are likely far deeper than these eight images based just on the characters that are not seen ... if they exist. With a cult classic finding those sets or press kit photos may not be as easy. Also, given the year (2001) some of the stuff may have moved to digital or CD/DVD form for promotion as well ... so some stuff simply may not exist as it may not have even been made, leaving international items like this as some of the few options.

AN AWA THROWBACK ...
The Program:
Verne Gagne -- July 1970 Wrestling News AWA event program with lineup card insert
The Price:
$3.99
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
I picked up this simple item from a big-time dealer that had a lot of retro stuff for a while on the cheap before it all just went poof ... so I'm kind of glad I grabbed it now. I wasn't all that impressed when I got it -- it's basically a four-pager with the card inserted into it with the AWA promoter and icon on the front but nowhere to be found on the card for a July 11, 1970, night in Milwaukee. The item itself is quite clean but I thought there would be a little more to it ... but that's probably also why it was so cheap despite being more than 50 years old (and why I had it waiting for a spot to appear here for a long time). The top of the card is where the star power is but among the highlights a little lower is the name Angelo Poffo ... the father of "Macho Man" Randy Savage and "Leaping" Lanny Poffo.

TOO CHEAP NOT TO
The Cards:
Angela Fong 2014 BenchWarmer Halloween promo autographs (10) and 2015 BenchWarmer Pink Archive autos (seven)
The Price:
Bascially $1 a card
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
This former WWE and Lucha Underground star has very little to show for her wrestling career when it comes to cardboard -- I've mentioned all of her cards at times in this series -- but over in the BenchWarmer ranks she's got a relative boatload of stuff and some types of cards can be found easily from the various releases throughout the years for her and others. (And that means they can be found cheap.) Since I'm a collecting product of the 1980s and after, I'm not against some good ol' fashioned hoarding for cards if they're cheap and I collect the subject and, well, I to do to a degree here. I also might have done some of them with grading in mind and picking up a small lot is a way to weed out lesser copies from the elite-grade ones.

The Price:
About $7
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
There are a lot of roles you probably remember Liv Tyler from if you were around pop culture in the 1990s and beyond with Aerosmith video appearances with Alicia Silverstone (Tyler's dad is singer Steven Tyler) to classics such as Empire Records, That Thing You Do!, Inventing The Abbotts, Armageddon, the Lord Of The Rings trilogy and more. She's actually had card appearances and six certified autos in the Rings stuff -- films I've never been interested in so I've not seen them -- and this also is a film I have not seen ... but I think she's among some 1990s names that are of note but may not have a bunch of traditional collectibles that could be worth the look. (A sign of that? Her certified autos are perhaps a lot pricier than you might think.) This also seems like it would be a solid item for an autograph if she does convention appearances or private signings in the future -- a blue Sharpie sig would stand out well here.

FROM DEEP IN A BULK LOT ...
The Lobby Cards:
Jessica Alba on international Machete & Sin City: A Dame to Kill For lobby cards
The Price:
Pocket change
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
This trio came from a big lot of lobby cards where the previous owner clearly collected with stars in mind, breaking up literally dozens of movie sets to create collections of portfolios of just their preferred stars. I picked off a couple names and these got thrown in the lot as I had asked if any Robert Rodriguez stuff was out there and available. (The Machete lobby cards are fun with the various eccentric characters showcased ... I need to track those down.) Not much else to this other than I figured I'd throw these out there as a reminder about lobby cards being fun and cheaper items to collect .. and this Buzz Buys already has all kinds of variety.

A COLORFUL FINALE ...
The Card:
Molly McGrath 2021 Goodwin Champions Splash of Color Memorabilia
The Price:
Less than a pack
Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
This card is a couple years old but I'm not totally sure I ever pulled anything from it or saw this set in-person ... so here we are. This card is here as an example of a simple design that has some flashes -- or in this case splashes -- that can make a simple pose look a little cooler. This Sports Emmy-nominated ESPN sportscaster and sideline reporter for college football and basketball actually had cardboard as far back as Allen & Ginter in 2018 -- I think I might have an autograph somewhere actually -- and then cards in a few 2021 UD releases like this that include other names beyond athletes. Some trivia if you read this far: Molly McGrath is also the name of Goldie Hawn's character in the 1986 football comedy classic Wildcats where she plays a high school football coach.
