Buzz Goes Gaming: Wonder Forge WWE Matching Game (2020)

This department will be an occasional series that will take a quick look at a game or gaming release with card elements -- essentially a breakdown of what's in a box, but not the typical kind of a Buzz Break. (Buzz isn't a gamer so this will just be what's in a box vs. gameplay analysis.) Maybe there's a box you'd want to see busted? Send Buzz an email at BlowoutBuzz@blowoutcards.com.

What's Buzz-worthy: I picked up two or three of these games long ago because they’re as simple as it gets -- were under $10 at the time -- and, well, it’s essentially nothing but cards on pog-style thick and sturdy stock once they are popped out of their perforated sheets. (Opened one, was impressed, and stashed away my others sealed.) About the only thing missing here would be some of the NXT names who have gone on to bigger things but otherwise this is pretty much a time capsule of notables for the era -- now in WWE, AEW and elsewhere -- with very few who out of the game or heavily off the radar even all these years later. This is a simple card-matching game -- no need to explain it -- for young players for syre but with the stock I’ve been tempted to see if I could slab some singles here or even one of each sheet. Why? I’m a collector and these were so cheap and are different from a lot of stuff out there. They have perhaps dried up some -- I found them via a big box store’s site at a discount -- but they can still be found. Had a few of the 2020 NXT names been in here I think there might be some extra heat.

Product Grade: A- (good mix of names but wish it went deeper or had an update)
Box Grade: A
Fun Grade: A-
