My Take Before I Broke This: This one kind of came together out of a basic want -- something different or maybe an AEW hour -- in the lineup today but nothing I really hadn't ripped before presented itself on the cheap. (I didn't want to do any AEW hobby boxes as I'm not a big fan of the perhaps typical return vs. the cost.) So I poked around at what I had in my past pick-ups for Buzz Breaks or what hadn't yet gotten a spot on a Buzz Buys showcase (or was shelved as it wasn't really all that mass-audience friendly ... GCW) and then added a few others. Ultimately nothing here was over $50 at the original prices I paid -- so even collecting indy stuff isn't that cheap these days. (And the Revolver set likely costs more now vs. when I bought.) The AEW packs are inserted with certain action figures and I found a lot without going too crazy price-wise and I grabbed the TNA blaster as I didn't want to over-pay for a newer Impact set (man, those have dried up fast) that had autographs randomly seeded one per box.

Who Won The Battle? That's a tough call here ... as a collector or somebody who breaks sets to sell singles there's a lot in this hour's stuff. The AEW packs had an advantage with some big names there but the best stuff eluded me. The TNA box had a guaranteed auto and was a winner for sure overall vs. other possible ink but I think the best stuff here is the Wrestling Revolver set that was (originally) pretty cheap and since it's more of a historic look back it can cherry pick the best names to appear. Sü Yüng is an absolute fav of mine with few cards but others such as Pentagon and MJF are in there, too. A lot of indy star power there and they're names who have made it elsewhere, too.

The Top Rookies: The Consequences Creed (aka Xavier Woods) card really jumped out at me from that loaded TNA pack -- he never got saved from the many boxes I busted back then when it was the first TRISTAR release and it's a Rookie Card for sure. That's one good one here but he's cheap despite his strong WWE run as part of The New Day. (Future Hall of Famers.) I'll also go with this parallel of a Darby Allin as he's a good name to find in these packs though this wasn't his main card. (It's a base card from a subset ... so a second-tier kind of parallel RC to most.) This card is worth more than the Creed for sure and I like its grading potential, too. I will slab it eventually. The Kay Lee Ray (aka Alba Fyre in NXT) card also is a little deceptive here -- it's valuable -- but also not her main card in that small set and it's also a bit awkward in look. It's indy ... so its more of an "XRC" or even minor-league card vs. the others here if you know the definitions ... but it gets a nod from me here.
--
One That Stole The Show: Gotta go with the future Hall of Famer ink here ... a mediocre auto could have been topped by the Allin card but can't deny this one.
--
Break Grade: A- ... a lot of fun and variety here as long as I don't look at the dollar signs of what they cost me.
Fun Grade: A- ... solid ink and a lot of these cards might have a little better value than what I or others might think at a glance since some of this stuff is either rare to start with or has dried up.
--
The Bottom Line: I kinda want to do more stuff like this ... but I may still just cherry pick singles of names who have arrived in WWE or AEW who I like.
