My Take Before I Broke This: I wanted even more variety in today's lineup while on the cheap and some of these were definitely added to ensure that but to also offer up a chance at some surprises. Elite is the newbie of the bunch as the latest Panini America release in there today, while the AEW is the newest there after being substantially delayed. Select is one of my heavy, heavy go-to boxes though they don't always deliver that well but the mix is solid. The others are either cheap (Finest) since it runs lean often, while the other two were overlooked by me in the past but have grown on me slightly with hits in those boxes every time and other rival releases of their times drying up or not aging that well.

Who Won The Battle? Well, this one didn't cough up a lot of better stuff so to speak -- a bummer -- but I think the AEW box brought the variety -- as did Select with some star power -- but I think the winner here was the Smackdown box with its rare hit ... keep reading.

--

The Top Rookies: The rookie crop in these isn't great -- nor is it awful -- but I wasn't smacked over the head by a bunch of them in this break. Rather than pick a WWE name with a lot of stuff to choose from but not a ton of value, I'm going with the Skye Blue RC that's an insert (so not a RC per se) but a name whose few cards are getting a little attention. These are cleanly done and stand out from the rest of the bunch in that one.

--

Card That Stole The Show: It's just a simple shirt card but it's a Relic set that parallels an insert that's in the hit pack (a Walmart-only version if I remember correctly ... and my box image up top is the wrong chain version) and because of that there aren't as many made. The odds of landing this one is one in 303 boxes ... so that's a win, especially considering she's a star both here and in Japan, not some lesser name. That one has a little more potential to command a decent price if a serious collector is in need as a retail-only find of lower volume may not pop up as often as something in hobby.

Lot Grade: A- ... A few good names on parallels, a couple hits and that rare find -- that's respectable for some boxes that are mostly discount-bin priced. The rare Relic is the only reason this lot graded an A.
Fun Grade: B ... The newest box here seemed to deliver the least, but that's OK when others did OK ... at least this time. I think as long as prices remain reasonable all options here are worth the look for a collector. If you're looking for a big-money hit or flip, rip into hobby options on some of these.

--

The Bottom Line: Guaranteed hits help ... and they can sometimes pay off with some luck if a box isn't that strong. That's the case here. I think all blasters need to have some kind of hit or unique type of card that can establish itself with authority right off the bat in a box. They help take away the sting if a box is mediocre -- and that can happen with smaller retail boxes.
