Buzz's BlowoutTV Breakdown: A baseball mixer in the Club
This entry was posted on August 11, 2023
.Group breaks have been a game-changer for the card industry for several years now and from time to time Buzz will jump into a BlowoutTV break of some type and break down the results of what he landed by picking up a team. There are near-daily breaks right here with Matt on Blowout TV during weekday working hours and even more from Houdini and others over on the forum in the evening.
Now, it's time for this post's break breakdown -- a spot in a small mixer with some decent potential.
INSIDE THE BREAK ...
The Products: 2021 Topps Stadium Club, 2022 Topps Stadium Club, 2022 Topps Stadium Club Chrome
The Breakdown: One hobby box of each release
The Price: $21.99 per random five-player spot
What Buzz Landed: Boston Red Sox

Initial Reaction: This was a cheap but riskier break with only five autographs to be found in the break but, oddly, this one did cough up six with an extra redemption in the Chrome box.
WHAT BUZZ LANDED ... (see everything in gallery below)
Total cards: 11
Base: 9
Rookies (3) – Jarren Duran, Connor Wong, Tanner Houck
Veterans (6) – Rafael Devers (2), Roger Clemens, Alex Verdugo, Wade Boggs, Trevor Story
Inserts: 1
2022 Topps Stadium Club Chrome Green Refractors (1) – Wade Boggs (/99)
Autographs/Memorabilia: 1
2022 Topps Stadium Club Autographs (1) – Kutter Crawford
Final Thoughts: The team I landed is one with decent potential in pretty much most years but perhaps is not in the upper echelon here as it might be elsewhere. I landed one of the five guaranteed autos here though it's nothing that pays for the break -- but I'll take it vs. no ink at all. (Hits -- autographs and memorabilia -- still matter way more to me than anything else despite changing lineups in pricier boxes these days.) My numbered card -- also not super-plentiful in Chrome boxes -- is a classic where Chicken Man (he ate chicken before every game) is clowning around with some fowl in a photo shoot from the past. That's the kind of base card that stands out so much I've had one in my "maybe grade" stack but this one will get graded as long as it's clean inside its top-loader from Houdini. (I have not checked it yet.) It's sold for. a few clucks, err bucks, but the only one presently on eBay has an asking price that might pay for the break spot if somebody were interested enough. That and an auto gets this one an A-grade mark and probably should have been higher considering I beat the odds to land both. The rest here? Not much I would need but that would apply in a lot of breaks.
Product Grade: A- (these releases are better as a case break to let the hit volume add up)
Break Grade: A- (I beat the odds this time)
