eBay Buzz: It's Tua Time, Rhea Ripley's first autograph, landing a big Cheech & Chong hit and Cody Bellinger's top rookie ink?

We’ll spotlight some items that have a story or just wow us with how much interest it might have — and we’re not just talking baseball cards, either.

PREMIUM PREMIERE
The Item: Cody Bellinger 2017 Topps Transcendent Collection Silver variant autograph (/15)
The Price: $397.79 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: With the World Series starting tonight and this guy the one who made sure the Dodgers got there, I figured it would be fitting that this one leads off. It's a bit of a homer pick for me (I have a regular version of this card) but the prices on his stuff now are a fraction of what they used to be a couple of years ago. Why does this one matter in my mind? It's his best rookie ink in terms of a premium brand and it's possible that a number of them may not be in circulation compared to what that serial-numbering says as these were issued as redemption. The sticker covering a top-loader should make the redemption part obvious but that was the best pic here. (I didn't remove mine from the top-loader, either.) There might be a couple of concern spots here on the frame but that could also be on the holder in the scan, but I'd not be super-worried about that due to the scarcity and if you're not grading. I'm not sure who might command the most gains on the team if the Dodgers win it all, but in general you can't lose on premium stuff from early years if you get in on the lower side. This one, while somewhat pricey, feels like a bargain compared to other stuff out there -- see the link below. A card like this can reasonably sell for more later compared to those prices.

IT'S TUA TIME
The Item: Tua Tagovailoa 2020 Panini Certified Black Freshman Fabric NFL Shield Auto 1/1
The Price: $4,500 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: He's getting the start in the Dolphins' next game seemingly out of the blue but that's a good thing as there have been a boatload of cards put out on the auction block and something like this will help some of them sell off and keep some of those prices from getting too low to refuse. (That saves me money ... I'd be buying in bulk if they had gotten lower.) This price probably won't get hit -- it's too steep in my mind -- but it's still a solid card and a tough pull of a key guy from a release that people have been ripping into for years. I'd go this route over a big similar hit from a brand that has a higher price and coughs up cards like this more regularly.

FIRST AUTOS HERE
The Item: Rhea Ripley 2020 Topps WWE Undisputed Autographs (/199)
The Price: $43 after eight bids (six days remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This NXT star had her first American card arrive out of the blue in Transcendent Collection -- a super-premium sleeper Rookie Card as I'm pretty sure nobody else in that set was a first-timer and it wasn't labeled as an RC or First NXT Card, either. This one also is a a sleeper of sorts as it's her first auto and the home of her first standard RCs beyond a Topps Now appearance and the super-rare Transcendent. The smark-collectors know all this, though, with some meaty asking prices for all of her stuff. This one gets the nod here as it's an auction that will give us a good idea of what bidders will get these up to vs. BIN asking prices. Her auto is pretty consistent so far so it should be a strong card -- one knock on this release this year I've seen is a lot of small and rushed sigs. The good news is that this brand is perhaps carrying one of its best designs ever since its arrival in 2015 and there are some with photos that are Hall of Fame worthy. As for Ripley, she's already a main-event player of sorts where she's at now and her match against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania indicates WWE has plenty of future plans here.

DYNAMIC DUO
The Item: Cheech Marin & Tommy Chong 2020 Leaf Metal Pop Century Red Co-Stars Autographs (/3)
The Price: $599.95 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Ok, this one might be priced a little to ... um ... high, but if there was one brand I'd do hit drafts on all day long, it might be this one. (That second part isn't a joke as there's nothing but hits to be found in these boxes. Card hits.) This isn't the best pick for this next point as these guys have had quite a few card appearances and low-volume sigs over the years, but some finds in this brand can be big enough to pay for a few boxes while some others might sting. (That's why I might do hit drafts over boxes if possible -- some choice might help with the cheaper finds.) This card is a big hit but there are others who are far bigger this year and can command more cash. Plus, a lot of the signers here don't have a lot of card appearances ... so their stuff can command more money later. (Don't even think about finding boxes of some older releases. They just won't exist ... this is a brand that gets gobbled up pretty fast.)
