eBay Buzz Weekly Update: Home Run Derby, Miz & Mrs. ink, The Sandlot, Ginter Rip Cards & Shohei Ohtani's new rarities

THE ORIGINAL HOME RUN DERBY
The Item: 1959 Home Run Derby Mark Scott card PSA 4
The Price: $400 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This week's MLB All-Star Home Run Derby is a spectacle and one of the highlights of the season since it began back in 1985. But, 59 years ago this fall, there was a different Home Run Derby -- a television series that took us to an empty ballpark and showcased a number of Hall of Famers in one-on-one battles. The show's 26 episodes were filmed in the offseason of 1959 and they first aired in 1960 with Hall of Famers Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, Al Kaline, Harmon Killebrew, Mickey Mantle, Eddie Matthews, Willie Mays, Frank Robinson and Duke Snider among the 19 stars who battled it out. The show's producer and host was Mark Scott and all of them appeared on this oversized promotional card set that was produced in 1959 and released with the show. They measure 3 1/8 by 5 1/4 inches and they have all -- except for Scott -- been reprinted in the past. (Graded is a safer buy if you're paying big money here, while the reprints are fun and affordable.) Scott died in the summer of 1960 of a heart attack at age 45 and the production company canceled future episodes the show. Is this card particularly valuable? I'm not sure, but this copy -- not a high-grade one -- is the only Scott card on eBay. Oddly, I think I'd want the host card first -- you can watch episodes on YouTube as well as on DVD if you're curious about these.

SO MANY ALLEN & GINTER SURPRISES
The Item: 2018 Topps Allen & Ginter Double Rip Card Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig (/15)
The Price: $499 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: There are a number of surprise inclusions in Allen & Ginter every year but one of the favorites every year since its arrival in 2006 are its Rip Cards that one can dare to tear to see what might be inside it. Double Rip Cards will include two cards inside. It doesn't look like there are Mini Rip Cards inside these any more (those had 1/1 Mini Minis inside those) but there are still some interesting potential finds. This one isn't one Buzz would rip, though, with two legends of the game inside.

MIZ & MRS. ... AS IN MARYSE
The Item: 2018 Topps WWE Autographed Kiss Maryse (/25)
The Price: $74.99 Buy-It-Now
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: You may be seeing more of Maryse Mizanin in the future as a reality TV show starring her and her husband, Mike -- aka "The Miz" -- will launch next week to highlight the antics that happen in their lives as they welcome a child into the universe and their world of professional wrestling. She's had a number of autographed cards since he first certified autographs from Topps in 2009 (just under 100) despite time away from the ring, while he's got about the same number despite his inked cardboard arrival being back in 2006. Both could have some added interest with their new show and are relatively affordable autographs. You may have seen him on TV this week as he was the MVP of the MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game -- he called his shot in Babe Ruth fashion but only doubled (total Miz fashion) and still took home top honors after a 2-for-2 day and some work from the mound. He's from Cleveland, so you can bet he'll be on next year's All-Star roster in Ohio if he has any choice in the matter. As for TV, Look for Miz & Mrs. on Tuesday night after Smackdown on USA Network.

A BIG PULL FROM DONRUSS OPTIC ...

Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Early boxes of Optic have been yielding plenty of color and plenty of ink and one of the biggest ones so far in a stacked rookie and prospect lineup is this international star.

The Item: The Sandlot 25th Anniversary Edition Blu-Ray bonus cards (& more)

Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Don't need another copy of the DVD but want the sealed Topps card set, the poster and the bonus booklet for his baseball classic that seems to be beloved by a many MLB player these days? This is your auction. These cards could pick up steam -- they're only found in this DVD packaging release -- once 2018 Topps Archives arrives with other cards and autographs from the cast later this summer.
