First Buzz: 2020 Donruss Optic football cards

What's buzz-worthy: Optic hits the field once again with this year's top rookies and plenty more in tow -- all on Optichrome stock with plenty of parallels to chase.

The Basics: Boxes will deliver 14 standard Rookie Cards, six Rated Rookies and 14 inserts and parallel cards this time (parallels noted in gallery). The basic set will include 100 cards and 100 Rookie Cards atop that. Rated Rookies will have on-card autographs here and they won't be alone for the hits as there will be hobby-only Rookie Patch Autos (/25) and Dynamic Patch Autos. Among the hobby-only inserts will be Mythical (noted as an SP) and T-Minus 3-2-1 cards and joining them will be Downtown cards for key veterans, rookies and Super Bowl winners as well as Retro inserts. ... New in the parallel lineup will be Silver Circles (/125), Pink Velocity (/79) and Lime Green (/35) cards. ... Packs will carry a suggested retail price of $5.

Update: There also will be an H2 (Hobby Hybrid) edition for this release with those eight-pack boxes (20 per case) having 32 cards. Among those will be five parallels -- four being an exclusive Red Mojo -- along with eight RCs, four Rated Rookies, one rookie/Rated Rookie holo card and one base holo card (so approximately 13 base cards). These will open with a suggested retail price of $8.75 each ($70 box).
