What's buzz-worthy: Topps' 70th anniversary edition will arrive in February with a new look, new players and plenty of retro inclusions in this release.

The Basics: The base set will include 300 cards -- rookies, veterans, team cards and World Series highlights (if it happens -- and each card will have Rainbow foil, Gold foil, Gold (/2,021), Vintage (/99), Independence Day (/76), Black (/70) Platinum Anniversary (/70), Mother's Day (/50), Father's Day (/50), Memorial Day (/25), Clear (/10 for 100 players) and 1/1 printing plates as well as a 1/1 70th Anniversary parallel. ... Among the inserts will be 70 Years of Topps (past and present players on past designs) with autos (/10) possible for some players. Joining them will be The History of Topps (key names and events) and Topps Through the Years (25 iconic players and designs) inserts that will have Blue, Black (/299), Platinum (/70), Red (/10) and 1/1 Gold parallels. Joining them will be Stars in Service (charitable players) with Blue, Black, Platinum, Red, Gold and autographed (/10) parallels as well as Double Headers (a 1990 re-do) and Platinum Players diecuts that will have the same parallels. Also in that mix will be 1986 Topps cards with Blue, Black, Platinum Red and Gold versions as well as 1951 Topps Major League All-Stars box-toppers only in jumbo boxes. Those will have autos (/10). Also in play will be 70 iconic buybacks in 1/1 encased presentations as well as sketch cards, shaped sketch cards (70 total) and a new wave of Home Run Challenge cards.
For autographed Relics, there will be Reverence autographed patches (/10) with Red (/5) and 1/1 Platinum parallels and those same parallel colors will be found for Major League Material auto Relics (/50), World Series Champion auto Relics (/50 max) and then Postseason Performance auto Relics (/50 max). Standard autos will include 70 Years of Baseball autos with past and present players found with Black (/199), Gold (/50), Red (/25) and 1/1 Platinum parallels. Joining those will be 70th Duals (/5), 1986 Topps autos with on-card sigs and Black, Gold, Red and Platinum parallels. There also will be World Series Champion autos, Postseason Performance autos and 1/1 cut autos in the mix. Those sets will only have Red (/25) and 1/1 Platinum parallels.
Manufactured Relics will include Iconic Card Patches (50 cards from the past) as well as Spring Training Cap Logo Patches that will have Blue, Black (/299), Platinum (/70), Red (/10) and 1/1 Gold parallels as well as autographs (/10) for some players. Standard Relics will include Major League Materials with Black, Gold, Red and Platinum parallels as well as 1986 Relics with the same rundown and volumes. Last but not least will be World Series and Postseason Performance Relics (/99) with Red and Platinum versions and then a selection of 1/1 In The Name letter Relics. ... Silver packs also will return for 2021 with one silver pack per hobby box and two per jumbo box. There also will be 25 certificates for a 70th anniversary celebration event and 25 more in Series 2. Ticket-holders and one guest will be able to attend a party with players, exclusive cards and more up for grabs sometime next fall.
