What's buzz-worthy: Wild Card returns to the football card landscape for the first time since 1993 with a high-end, all-hits release that will arrive in two waves called BLK and WHT.

The Basics: For BLK, each box of this one for the will include six packs -- four BLK and two Red Fire packs. Each will have six cards, three of those are autographs. There will be 22 players showcased in this one -- all projected first-round picks or QBs -- and every card will be numbered. Among the possibilities are Thumbagraphs, numbered base cards with Stripes parallels, Red Hot Rookies, Smoking Guns, Stat Smashers and X-Plode. There will be eight parallels for most cards -- all fewer than either 40 or 50 copies depending on the set, while the Stat Smashers will not have eight sets but will still have volumes no higher than 50 copies. Stripes cards, which made the original Wild Card cards a hit where collectors could trade in their striped card for that number of copies, are parallels here with five, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 1,000 versions. (They do not appear to be tradable this time around.) Just 300 serial-numbered cases will be made for BLK.
