What's buzz-worthy: Topps Chrome drops with some new energy, new inclusions and a boatload of color next summer.

The Basics: The 200-card base set will have basic Refractors along with Prism, Negative, Magenta (/399), Magenta Speckle (/350), Purple Speckle (/299), Purple (/299), Aqua (/199), Aqua Lava (/199), Blue (/150), Green (/99), Green Wave (/99), Blue Wave (/75), Gold (/50), Gold Wave (/50), Orange (/25), Orange Wave (/25), Red (/5), Red Wave (/5) and 1/1 Superfractors and printing plates. There also will be photo variations for some cards in the base set with Green Speckle (/99), Gold Speckle (/50), Orange Speckle (/25), Red Speckle (/5) and 1/1 Superfractor versions as well as some standard cards dubbed as "super short prints" just like 2021. ... Inserts will include a Chromed take on 1987 Topps as well as Future Stars, New Classics, Pinstriped and Heart of the City cards. Each of these will have parallel rainbows that include Green, Gold, Orange, Red and Supers.

The rookie auto rainbow will include a number of Refractors -- standard (/499), Purple Speckle (/299), Purple (/250), Aqua Wave (/199), Blue (/150), Blue RayWave (/150), Gold (/50), Gold Wave (/50), Orange (/25), Orange Wave (/25), Red (/5), Red Wave (/5) and 1/1 Superfractors and printing plates. New for this one will be veteran variation autos that will have the same parallels. ... Inserts also will be found with ink -- 1987 (/TBD), Heart of the City (/99), Future Stars (/TBD), dual-rookies (/25) and Pinstriped. Duals will only have Red and Supers for parallels but the others will have Orange, Rd, Supers and plates. ... A new part of the lineup for this one will be Topps Chrome Authentics -- "the authenticated relic home for Chrome-branded releases" -- cards that will have stickered swatches and be found with Green (/99), Orange (/25), Red (/5) and 1/1 Supers as well as autographed versions that will vary by player.
