What's buzz-worthy: Topps revisits T206 tobacco cards for a fourth time but this time with a different release approach that apparently has come and gone on Topps.com.

The Basics: Just like past years, there will be eight base cards and two parallels per pack -- but this time there will be four packs per $54.99 (original Topps price) box. The set this time is 150 cards and each will have back variations -- Piedmont, Polar Bear, Uzit, Carolina Brights, Sweet Caporal, Tolstoi, Wood stock (announced /20), 95 Morton (announced /25), Blank Back (announced /10), Interleague Logo (announced /5) and 1/1 Ty Cobb backs. Also in play here for this series will be American Beauty photo variations for 15 players, Missing Black Plate variations for 15 more players, an Opening Day variation for 30 players, T205 Gold Border inserts for 20 players and 1/1 Background variations. All are detailed on the checklist above. ... Among the signers are David Ortiz, Tony Oliva, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Brett Baty, Masataka Yoshida, Craig Biggio and Byron Buxton for starters. ... Among notables in the base set are Shohei Ohtani, Harmon Killebrew, Bryce Harper, Ted Williams, Ronald Acuña Jr., Nolan Ryan, Tony Gwynn, Michael Harris II, Derek Jeter, Mark McGwire, Jackie Robinson, Adley Rutschman, Bo Bichette, Rod Carew, Spencer Strider, Julio Rodriguez, Mookie Betts, Corbin Carroll, Rickey Henderson and Honus Wagner among others.
